How do you guys feel about MIDI controllers?
I was gonna buy a Torq Xponent from M-Audio earlier this year but I got hit with some housing bills for next year ($1200/month rent my ASS) so I snagged an Ion ICue for like $30 on ebay instead lol.
I plan to use it to control Virtual DJ 6.0.4 which I already have and play with all the time.
I'm just curious though, does anyone else like to play with them? Specifically the ICue, because I'm fairly certain it's going to suck balls, but it would be nice to know just how badly.

it just looks like a copy of numark total control,
do you have a mixer? if you do have a look at the eks xp5, about 120, not sure about dollars.
has a touch sensitive platter, cue and play, pitch ect. It is a soundcard too so you can use it as a 'normal' deck though your mixer and use the pc soundcard as the second, and it comes with traktor le
if you dont have a mixer im sure you could find a cheap one for now

I'd rather spend a bit more money and key a synth that has a keyboard on it. I have no intention of ever getting a controller when that option is available.

I don't really need a controller with a sound card in it, I already spent some money on the creative x-fi because I got sick of my laptop's god awful sound and I also have a radio show I run from my laptop lol.
That eks xp5 looks pretty overpriced, $200 USD on amazon. I'd rather snag one of the Xponents from ebay for $300-$400, which has way more controls and two platters and with a built in mixer. First we'll see how the Icue works out (probably not well lol).

It's occurred to me that you are talking about DJing and not producing, what i said was relevant for producing but has nothing to do with DJing haha :P

My ICue came today, its pretty bare bones actually. But the platters feels nice, very good bearings and the scratching is slightly better than terrible. There's also the slightest bit of lag which makes me sad but I think I can work with it. Worth the $30 US I paid on ebay, not worth the $100 US it goes for new on amazon.
