funtimes!
Voyager 2, some spaceprobe we sent out years ago...stopped transmitting data back to earth briefly a few weeks ago, then suddenly started up again - but instead of sending normal data, is sending somthing very very odd back which scientists cant translate!
some top scientist guy has said they dont know what it is, and its possible that its some aliens trying to communicate!

this made me think about the episode of futurama with the show 'single female lawyer' being transmitted to omicron persei 8 =P

I hope, and don't hope, this is true.
Sorry, just got done reading War of the Worlds again, and I'd rather not have aliens killing us. Why we ever broadcasted our location is beyond me!
Though the science part of me finds this really interesting, which is not surprising since I love science-fiction, and a lot of things that could happen in the future (which will seem cliche then when it happens).
But it could also be a malfunction, says the skeptical side of me!

there's a good number of sci-fi shows that have actually pointed this out. hostile aliens always find their victims due to friendly gestures such as space probes and whatnot.
