This is going to sound really stupid, even to the people who aren't computer savvy, but how do i get back the "Show Desktop" icon that was once in my quicklaunch toolbar thingy at the bottom of the screen (next to the windows icon you click to get a list of your programs up). It used to be there and i loved it, then a foolish slip of the mouse and it was gone. I've done this before and somehow managed to get it back but for the life of me i can't remember how. How do i get back?
I'm using Vista if that helps at all.
This is a totally serious post by the way, i'm lost without my show desktop button. Please help :(

right click on the task bar and select properties, have a snoop in there. I think on vista there is a quick launch menu, so it might be hidden if the slider is too narrow.
alternatively, right click the task bar and select show desktop.

Here you go for Vista:
1. Right click an empty spot on your desktop and choose new > text document.
2. Copy and paste this text into the new document:
[Shell]
Command=2
IconFile=explorer.exe,3
[Taskbar]
Command=ToggleDesktop
3. Name the file Show Desktop.scf and save it to your desktop.
4. Drag the resulting new Icon back to your Quick launch Bar.
Or on XP just open notepad and do the same thing.

I'm about to blow your head clean off. As it happens i have a tool that restores this very icon, just in case you ever come across this problem again and can't be bothered to do it the hard way. http://www.sendspace.com/file/tbwkqz
