Ok so pop/chart music gets a lot of flak from, well, everyone. Whether it be in it's original form or as some ill-advised, tacky Hardcore remix, where it is usually sped up well pasts it's intended BPM and just generally sounds awful. Everyone feels the need to complain about pop music for some reason or another; it's music for idiots, it's sole purpose is to make money, pointless drivvle, whatever, but how much of this moaning is just for the sake of moaning? And how much of it is actually what you feel? Do you not tap your feet along, hum and whistle the melody and sing the lyrics? Course you do.
I actually feel pop music at the moment and actually as far back as i can remember has produced some great or at least decent music. So how about we all take our beloved Hardcore music of it's pedistool of musical genius, hop down off our high-horses and just post some good pop music.
I'm not expecting this topic to get off the ground btw, i'm expecting a few smart arse remarks along the lines of "i'd post some good pop music but when i type it in youtube it comes up with 'no results' arf arf" and a good one from Smoogie none of us have ever heard before about his search for Rankin tunes bla bla, but whatever, i just wanted to get this off my chest and post some good (imo anyway you're all welcome to disagree) pop music.
I'll kick things off (and probably end them) with some recent stuff.
Enjoy... but don't tell anyone or they'll point at you and laugh.
The last track may not be typical pop music but it gets a lot of radio play time and the album charted well (i think number 1 but can't be sure) so it is pretty much pop.

I was thinking that too. They were on ITV2 at Isle Of Whight festival and it was a very catchy little number. Couldn't turn it off, the fact Frankie was wearing very short shorts had nothing to do with it of course.

Girls Aloud certainly have put out the best pop songs! Although not recently, mostly their first stuff. Biology is a tune!
Also other great pop tunes, Fascination and Boyfriend from Alphabeat, not a fan of any of their other stuff, but the production/song writing on those 2 is brilliant.

Don't listen to radio much so really don't know what pop songs are currently out there. When I do listen to the radio, its a pretty decent rock station.
