Your all probably thinking that you cant fix a corrupted memory card but www.sandisk.com told me that they would retrieve the files for 50.00gbp but i seriously dont wanna spend that...

PC World And Maplins are probably the best retail places to get it fixed. Otherwise, check out the yellow pages because some freelancers can do better deals, and throw in freebee's.

ouch!
data recovery isnt going to be cheap - and when it comes to corrupt flash cards that wont even show up in PC when you plug them in its unlikely that "freelancers" will be able to do much, i'd genuinely be surprised if PC world or any retail stores can do anything as its quite the professional edge that is needed.
they can usually only get data back if the card will still show up (speaking as an ex-lead-PC Technician in a store simlilar to those)..and still thats just using software that is freely availible on the net
50 isnt actually a bad price in this instance - and im sure its a no-data-no-fee situation
it might be worth trying something along these lines:
http://www.z-a-recovery.com/ which will fix logic errors, where the computer just cannot recognise what its being fed..might have some hope there! its also got a photo recovery utility built in, but that will only work once you've uncorrupted it! (will recover deleted photos that havent yet been overwritten)
