So. I've chucked my job in, and I'm going travelling. I'm going to meet a friend in Vietnam. Start there. Chill-the-fcuk-out for a few months, then meet some friends in Thailand for Christmas. Then, eight months of chilling out in Asia, wherever I fancy.
Anyone done the travelling thing before? In this part of the world?
Any recommendations? Do's and Don't's?

No never travelled but 1 of my mates was in thailand a few years ago and loved it and i also know a fella tahts out there at the minute and hes loving it
So have a good time and enjoy yourself it should be wicked

alright here are some tips about asia and i don't know 100% if it's true but it's what i've been told by ppl who've been there before, mostly asians
when they check your baggage claim, you might have to give something to the officers b/c they're douchebags and if you don't tip them they'll do something like claim you're hiding something in your toothpaste and completely empty the case out
don't mess around with the prostitutes in thailand, b/c they might be guys. brazil & thailand are the capital cities of the world for trannys b/c getting that type of operation are cheapest there.
and that's all i know

Weed! All of those places supposedly have great stuff. Who knows you may come across a massive cannabis field out in Thailand like the scene from The Beach lol. Whatever you do be safe and enjoy man

Im thinking about going to Australia for a year next March/April with a couple of mates. Just gotta think, you're only young once so just go for it. Im sure you will have a wicked time! You will have to log on when you can and tell us any funny stories :p

Exactly. 24 in October, and it's only going to get more and more difficult, commitment wise, to get away like this.
I'll definitely be logging on whilst I'm out there! Gonna be difficult to buy any of your tunes on my budget though, Craig!

Yeah Im 24 in December so my reasoning for going to Austalia is the same as yours really. Oh yeah, you will struggle with the NSR tunes :( You may be the only person in Thailand who likes hardcore :|

10k pounds in asia will stretch a long long long. Things that cost more than $5 Aus are less than $1 in Viet.
Girlfriend and her best friend just spent few weeks in nam, they loved it, im betting you will to. enjoy. lucky bastard.
Also note that they went in height of summer. I'm guessing winter will be similar to winter here in Aus (maybe bit more severe because its a bit higher) depending on where you are in the country. Aus winters aren't very extreme - I've never seen snow in Sydney. Thailand is fairly tropic I think so you will be fine there.
