Yes those rumors are very convincing... and also eerily specific. If it does get announced on Saturday, let's just say Yoshimitsu will be my main, ha ha.

and just saw the video only 3 characters announced 1 completely new one (Super Skrull) and 2 returning ones from the last one (chun li & doctor doom)
I checked wickipedia and they have already listed as Trish from Devil May Cry in the game, and Viewtiful Joe I imagine will be in the game seeing as he was in the silhouette from the 1st video.
I think it's safe to say that all the majority of the original 15 characters will be back. altho there has been discussion that Jin and Captian Commando (and possibly Jill Valentine) might not be coming back due to some of the current characters having very similar moves

I've played Marvel vs. Capcom on MAME, and I came across a Marvel Super Heroes vs Street Fighter arcade cabinet... but I doubt the original 15 are going to return. War Machine definitely is not in there because Iron Man is.
I do hope you reconsider switching to 360. All I know is that Spunky, Cotts, and Mr. Mann have 360s, and I'd like more Hardcore people to fight on MvC3.

u probably didn't know this, but war machine was only in the 1st one due to copyright and legal issues with the character Iron Man. that is why they had the same look and moves compared to the 1st MvC to Marvel super heroes vs street fighter
Iron Man was featured in MvC1 as a secret character named Gold Iron Man. I honestly didn't like him as he was slow and could not defend himself against any attacks. he was much stronger tho than War Machine.
Also, both Iron Man and War Machine were both in Marvel v Capcom 2. they had the same moves, but changed up the looks of some of them and changed up their stats. that game had 56 characters, and honestly besides those 2 they had other repeat characters (Roll & Megaman, Adamantium Wolverine & Boneclaw Wolverine, and Guile and Charlie all had very little differences.
not sure bout a 360 seeing as how the majority of ppl i kno who's had 1 has had to return them at least once to get them fixed. but who knows if i'm strapped for cash i might give in and get 1. either way by the time MvC3 comes out PS3s will probably be $200

Ha ha get the new black, slim, 360. That one doesn't red ring. And the Microsoft fixes all red ringed Xboxes for free anyway.
I didn't know about the copyright issues with Iron Man in MvC1... and MvC2 Iron Man is just damn powerful compared to War Machine, who is so slow with no good hypers. But he is still a top tier character, which surprises me.
And they are getting rid of a lot of clone characters. The most being Ken, Akuma, and any other shotokan character is not making it into MvC3. Personally, all I want is Dark Sakura, but I don't see that happening.
And Sam, I honestly realized that after I posted it. God rival battles, awesome!

Well i think that Iron Man was the slower but more powerful 1 in MvC2, and War Machine had 2 super moves instead of 1 so that's prob why ppl were used to him b/c of the 1st MvC
I didn't name Ken, Akuma, and Sakura mainly b/c even tho they have a lot of similarities, they also have a lot of differences as well. maybe with the exception of Akuma, since he's almost Ryu. I'm sure Ken will be there tho. i read that Amingo is not returning. also from Wiki:
"Characters confirmed by Niitsuma to be absent from the game have so far included the monsters Tyrant and Nemesis of the Resident Evil series, citing concerns that their inclusion would change the game's content rating, as well as the primary members of Marvel's Fantastic Four, who were excluded at the company's suggestion for currently undisclosed reasons.[13] However, the more recent announcement of Super-Skrull means that all of the Fantastic Four's powers will be available in one character, explaining their omission. Seth Killian has stated that Amingo will not appear. Other characters confirmed to be absent by Niitsuma include Daredevil, Emma Frost, Gene, Ghost Rider, Punisher, and Phoenix Wright."
personally characters that i wouldn't miss coming back are: Tron Bonne, Servbot, Magneto, Marrow, Ruby Heart, Shuma Goroth, M. Bison, Blackheart, Juggernaut, Dhalsim, Roll, Guile, Charlie, Cammy, Anakaris, Dan, Omega Red, Sentinel, Silver Samurai, Spiral and i'm sure others.
I hope they bring back cable & Strider Hiryu b/c that would mean with Morrigan already announced in the game, I'll have my best 3 back in my roster! altho from the vids out there i'm definitely interested in playing with Dante, Deadpool & Chris Redfield

Yeah well, War Machine's Hypers don't do that much damage is what I'm saying.
Of all the characters that you don't want back in the game, I'd want Ruby Heart. She's fun to play as and an interesting character, and I think Dan would be great in the background, getting into all of his shenanigans. It would tight if he did his own Hypers in the background too, ha ha (Super Taunt!)
And despite their overwhelming cheapness I wouldn't mind Cable and Strider. As characters, they are cool. =D

Strider was NOT cheap u needed to know what you were doing to use him at his full potential. Cable was cheap i'll give you that, but if you can't defend or find a way to counteract his moves, well that's just lack of skill.
Magneto players were the most vicious, that's why i don't want him back lol. I've seen a person do 100+ combos combining regular moves and hypers with Magneto, never even giving the opponent the opportunity to get a hit in.

No, Strider was a high top tier, it's just I call him cheap when he's paired with Dr. Doom. That one orb Hyper, assist Dr. Doom, throw a few hits, teleport above enemy, if enemy blocked high do a sweep, repeat. When that happens he practically builds his meter back and does it again even if he didn't hit you, and that combo does some serious chip damage.
I call Cable cheap not because his moves are uncounterable, but because everyone who plays him runs away like a coward and turns MvC2 into a third person shooter.
I agree with Magneto, those combos are vicious. Even if any of these characters make it back in, the entire tier system will be re-arranged (due to balancing efforts). Magneto won't be a flying menace anymore. By comparison.
