Maybe too hard is the wrong word?? I think it's not bouncy enough too..."down" if that makes any sense, but great track one of the happier tunes I've heard in a while. A lot of people seem to think that vocal hardcore = happy, it doesn't! I don't know, the Hixxy remix of Set You Free is a good track, but it just lacks the pure happiness of Run to Me by Elogic, vinylgroover's toytown, follow the sun etc. and sometimes I think it's the trancy riffs and kicks that ruin it, they sound too sharp and not 'rounded' like they used to sound. Bit like falling down the stairs as opposed to rolling down a hill.
Vinylgroover didn't make "Toytown". Hixxy & MC Sharkey did.

It's all becoming male vocals, no vocals, or deep female vocals that are all about emotions and she won't shut up. what got me was how you said the kick was too hard in "Fire & Flames"....I don't think the kick is hard enough. 90s Happy Hardcore had that raw kickdrum that has been absent in most upfront releases. I want the pipe-organ, the piano, the cheesy pitched female vocal, and the raw kickdrums back please!
u can always try and produce ur own stuff with all those elements.
Care to give me some money so I can buy all the crap needed please?

Exactly! I'll have my Bachelor's in 2 years, so maybe then, if I still like this music, I'll start saving to buy production gear.

I love it personally, it's great. I've enjoyed most of the stuff that has come out in this style. Adds a bit of variety to a set which is always nice and it's bangin' as ****. 8)

Honestly, this style makes me think of Psytrance, except without the rolling bass in between the tracks, but many psy tracks I've heard at psy parties, it gets noisey and louder, and higher pitched, and right befroe it pitches the ear deaf, there's that split second of silence, and then the drum beat and bass. I quite like it to be honest.

alot of trance and house tracks seem to be doing the minimal thing these days to be its very irritating
its like theres a massive crescendo that builds up to the most disapointing anti-climax of a kick drum and bassline...
in hardcore its a little different i guess, as the power is still in the song (by default almost)
but with trance and house its like great sex turning into bad sex very quickly, disapointing anticlimax, completely ruins the atmosphere..
(0.51) building building...crescendo cresendo.....oooooo wwwwoooaaa here we goo..(1.11) .waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa (1:17) *mum walks in in you knocking one out*

..see what i mean
god that was horrible to listen to. hate it when that happens. years ago i had a rant about that trance track with the spanish singing and the bongo drums and how i didnt like that drop, and he almost kicked me out of his car. People obviously have a taste for it..

The minimal shit going around adds SO much variety to sets, people spend all day complaining about how everything sounds the same in hardcore and finally when a different style comes along, what do people do... complain!!!!!! No DJ's play full minimal sets it's just really nice to break up the good old cheese every now and then with some dirty basslines.
Just check out Le Gra Go Deo by Nu Foundation, so good and really progressive too!! And check out Creative Synergy - Beware of My Trance (Ponder Remix)... so many great ideas floating around! This minimal style is new so if you don't like it give it some time (or go to a club, lean on the sub, wait for We are the Vampires, and you will be converted!!).
