I know this subject has been beat to death, but I'm looking something a bit more specific (tl;dr jump to the last paragraph).
As this mp3 craze has been infesting other genres too, i feel i have no choice left to give up and start buying mp3's. The final straw was this album. Few years old album and 50 used, while the mp3 album costs 7. Also i tried few years ago to sell some of my old CD's and the resell value is so small that it isn't a valid reason to not buy mp3's.
As I'm not really interested to use dozens of stores as some of you do. I'm going to start with few stores. One for eurodance/trance/pop (i'm going with amazon.co.uk), one for finnish music and one for hardcore.
The store has to be 100% drm free, I'm too lazy to start reading the fine print every time i buy something. It has to have fairly broad selection of tunes, preferrably one that has JHardcore, Makina and Gabber too. It has to be reliable. Any suggestions?

if you want jhardcore, you're only choice is (japanese) itunes, which is still mostly DRM (even after apple said that their music should be drm free now). Most of the jhardcore I know off are released privately/as doujinshi work

Funny, I was about to go backwards and start buying Vinyl and CDs.
Other than Japanese iTunes, I'm not aware of any MP3 stores. If anyone knows a good J-Core MP3 store, speak up!

REDALiCE (the guy behind Alice's Emotion and Tano*C) used to run a MP3 store called Digi-Up. but it only released 90 tracks over period of 1 year, and all tracks where only on sale for 30+30 days (the last 30 being the last 30 days the store was open, where all tracks where one sale again), but this was about 2 years ago.
Seeing that MyDJSoBad is hopefully coming up soon, you can buy jhardcore from and western outlet instead of guhroovy

as far as eurodance from the 90s, I'd like some links to some download sites besides iTunes. a lot of eurodance out there i've tried searching for but to no luck.
as far as makina & gabber, junodownload comes to mind. they will also have a lot of trance, house, overall they contain a huge variety of edm. and they should be all drm free. and 1 of the things i like about them is after payment they create a link so that you can download all of ur purchases at once as a zip or rar file. also, everything on there is 320kbps mp3s
one more thing, have you ever considered selling your cds you don't want to sites like azuratrade? i'm not sure if there is a european version of that. you put in the upc codes of the cd and they'll show you the value of what they will buy it from you. some places will give you store credit others will give you an option of paypal. it's less of a hassle selling it to those places than trying to sell them on ebay and some cds they'll give you a lot for.

Ok, ill give Juno a try, pay day is tomorrow :) I've ordered some CD's from there before.
I used to order all my Eurodance records second hand from http://www.totalrecall.de At least was an ace store, but havent used it in a few years, so not 100% sure in what state the store is today. Not sure about mp3 stores.

Ok, Amazon doesnt sell to Finland because the labels are preventing them. As far as i know, this should be against EU regulations, but ill need to check out the legal details.
Have to check Juno when i get home from work, but yesterday made a quick skim through the site and couldnt really find much stuff in there.
The finnish one i was going to use, is still in the state as it was years ago: Its cheaper to buy the CD from sale then the mp3.
Bit rough start :P

Amazon UK, DE and FR are European companies as far as i know. I tried buying from the UK one. The US store can prevent me from buying all they want.

that's not even worth mentioning atm since everything on there is 192kbps and costs about the same amount as 2 fully mastered 320kbps tracks. hopefully scott brown will have the new mp3 store that has been mentioned up and running soon.

Well at least i'm not searching any store that only sells records from few labels, let alone only one. If the labels tunes arent available in proper stores then too bad, ill find something else to buy. I would have bought loads of RFU tunes, but since i couldnt find any, i wont buy any.
Anyway settled with Juno. Not so good selection from any specific genre. But a little bit from everything. Managed to find some eurodance, eurotrance, happy hardcore, makina and techno tunes...
