i can't connect to the internet using my ethernet cable into my pc, the router is working, laptops work fine on wifi, so its not a problem with that, someone said it could be the lan card in the comp, anyone got any ideas?

Find your network connections (you didn't tell me your OS so I can't tell you how to get there) make sure your LAN is enabled and not in need of repairs. You should also make sure your computer is connecting that way. It will tell you under the icon in grey text if its disabled or disconnected, assuming Windows 7 or XP.
If that doesn't work I have a plethora of other ideas but I'm headed out so I'll tell you later.

its vista lol, and i'm 40 in jan so need it plain stupid english lol, anyway its connected to the internet but won't connect if you know what i mean!

Give the Router a power cycle by unplugging the mains for it and leaving iot 30 seconds before plugging it back in

Is it a Ethernet card?
my computer
right click
click manage
click device manager
click network adapters
uninstall ethernet driver
restart windows
windows will reinstall it
Should fix it if it vista if its a legit copy
