i think what saminiation is getting at is where do you draw the line

ie:
a single person makes a few tracks, not noticed by anyone, uploads them to IMO or one of the other sites under their own "vanity record label" that means they still wouldnt get on the podcast.

many artistss songs are still considered unsigned if they arent on a "Major" record label
you wouldnt want to block joe bloggs getting his only track on the podcast just because it happens to be on an unknown, unheard "vanity" record label

at least i think thats what he is getting at, where is the point between a "real" label and a "vanity" one.
or is it the moment that song is for sale, then its barred from the podcast.

alot of the songs probably wouldnt be mastered well, and some people may be worried (im guessing it wouldnt be mixed due to the whole mastered thing) that their song would be ripped from the podcast, you could request "Radio" edits from people who wanted to submit songs! witty banter inbetween the songs, production tips..hardcore news..

if it gets off the ground i have a few Hardcore Compilation doubles i can offer up for competitions :)

Never heard of it myself

You've never heard of New Rave? Really? It was the name originally given to Hardcore Breaks when people started making that again. People also started using it for crappy Indie stuff that used synths so Hardcore Breaks got its current name as a result to avoid confusion.

It's still used a lot to describe both Hardcore Breaks and Rave Breaks.

I think it will cause confusion Acid yes. When I looked at it that's what it made me think of, not current UK Hardcore. :)

What about it? I think it's quite obvious what I'm saying even though I hadn't worded it quite right. Obviously I'm not trying to say "New Rave Traffic" is a genre.

It makes it sound like it is a podcast showcasing New Rave - Traffic. Upfront material from the New Rave scene.

Pretty good idea imo, can't hurt to try it at least :) To avoid people ripping tracks get radio edits like suggested, and just add something like other podcasts use "Hide your grannies, it's Brisk and Fracus", only replace Brisk and Fracus with Archefluxx etc :p
