Just curious what direction people see Hardcore going in. Noticed Gammer, Recon and Styles starting to get a lot of influence from House and Electro. Seems like Trance and Electro seem to be fused together alot too with the new Hardcore. Also sped up Electro style basslines seem to be appearing in Hardcore Tracks. Also the actual Kick Drums in Hardcore are starting to get much harder too. Good to see a bit more experimentation happening. For a while there Hardcore was sounding really boring with all those sped up Hard Trance tracks everywhere. Production standards seem to be better than ever before.
What are your thoughts?

it's been like this for the past 4 or so years.. if anything, hardcore is moving away from electro now.
I'll agree with you on the production aspect.. hardcore at the moment is being produced at some absolutely naughty standards..
the production aspect is all that seems to keep me in the scene at the moment, it's gone slightly stale seeing as it only has about three current albms in the mix. (hardcore underground, addiction and random projects on the side)
there's been no large style change recently like seen from 2000-2004 or 2004-2006 that i've been aware of.
although a move towards harder beats and more techno driven tracks is looming. especially when you see people like re-con and the like getting involved.

I notice a lot of happycore before was heavily Ragga-Jungle influenced but as time goes by, Happycore has turned into a 'copy of HardTrance. The makina sound is awesome but it also sounds too much like Hard Trance. e.g Hard Nation's "Atreyu". classic trak!

I dont think it will change. I think hardcore has found its 'niche' in the market.

I don't see any major changes anytime soon either but you have to admit, Freeform/Trancecore has played a huge part in keeping Hardcore very fresh & original.
Like it or not, theres sooo much Freeform/Trancecore influence (Production techniques & synth styles) in all Hardcore tracks now & most of the new age ravers are listening to these Freeform techniques in their bolved Hardcore without even knowing it, where as they would turn their nose up to the label Freeform lol
It's great, Freeform is slowly but surely moving to the forefront of Hardcore & it's about bloody time too.
