My goal is to make the writing good - I'll go back to the mixdown after the deadline as required...

Submitted mine and EFM-7's remix last night :D
Mixdown definitely could use some work but we finished at like 11:30, so we didn't have time to master or and there was no point doing a mixdown on tired ears :P
Will definitely go back to it before playing it out!

awesome entries!
I think my fav has to be the Ionisphere one :)..though i was a little unsure at the mid-start of it, but its great once you get well into it, breakbeats do such a great job at driving a track!

I really like the Ian K & Doughboy Remix.

Oops, something's wrong wtih the percussion levels for the first bar of my remix haha
Now that I've heard mine on rested ears I can definitely confirm it needs a serious mixdown (not enough bass and way too many resonance spikes on some of the synths). Ah well :P
Good submissions overall I've gotta say.
Disowned remix: Interesting idea to add that MC in there. I *REALLY* like when people do the male/female duet and maybe if that had been taken further it would've been really cool. I've never done it because I'd need access to TWO vocalists and it's already hard enough to find one :D Back to the mix... Not quite musical enough for my taste, and wish the vocal was used more.
Ian K & Doughboy remix: Definitely mastered the loudest of the bunch - lol :P Nice old skool twist to it and good drums/edits. Interesting glitch on the vocals... Maybe a bit extreme tough!
Liking the mix of wobbles and saws though. Hits pretty hard so I could see this working on a Montreal dancefloor :)
Ionosphere remix: Really glad to see someone else worked hard on the vocal to make it fit a specific chord progression. I really like the chord progression that was settled on too!!! Very uplifting. Reminds me of old UFO tracks circa 2002-2004. I think the mixdown needs a bit of work but I'll take good writing over a good mix :D
I'm actually most impressed by how he managed to make the happy part fit a minor progression. We dumped it altogether because it was just too happy for us. This is probably my favourite of the other submissions. Well done!
Kosmic remix: Wow. Different as hell, that's for sure. I like how he played with the timing of the vocal to give it a completely different feel. It's almost scary - in fact, it makes me think of some of the after parties I've been to after raves. Sketchy and dark :O Still, gotta say, it's pretty impressive that the vocal we were given ended up in this style of track!
So basically... good job everyone :)

big well done to everyone all the remixes are wicked, thanks for the constructive crititsism about my remix, its the same thing as my friends said just before i sent it, they kept thinking the piano was going to do something more but it never did, im currently getting me head around chords, ect so have stayed away from what im not good at at the mo, the piano in my track was a sample from a oldskool hardcore vinyl that was then glitched out of recognition, i used alot of glitching plugins in the track, the remix above mine on the kniteforce site has a great fullness of sound that mine also lacks, really fat deep bass that fills my monitors... big up to everyone again for all there efforts, maybe we can go a step further and send each other tracks of our own to remix...?? keep the creative bounce going... nice one...si (Disowned) [email protected]

Well, we're really surprised that Luna-C included our remix on his site - http://www.kniteforcerevolution.com because it was thrown together in a last minute rush and we described it as "....a load of old pants wrapped in wet nappies". We appreciate all the nice comments but Dain-Ja's siggestion that it needs some work on the mixdown is redundant. It hasn't had a mixdown. It hasn't had.... anything. As far as the other remixes are concerned it's gotta be Dain-Ja's. Definitely the most professional sounding.

Haha, fair. I guess were not the only ones that skipped mixdown in favor of more writing lol What's that chord progression you used by the way? I listened to it a few times this morning and missed my bus to work. Oops.

:-) The chord progression is the first thing that came into my head and the track was 'built' around it, which is the way we usually write a track.
However, if I told you the chord sequence it'd spoil the mystery. ;)
*edit*
....Oh yeh, before we forget, a big Thank You to Luna-C for putting up the samples and overseeing the Comp'.
If we weren't so slow it would have been even more fun had there been loads more time to mess about with it. :)
