i am thinking of making the trip across the pond and would like to hit up a good party whilst i am in the UK.
anyone from over there, can you recommend a decent event that would include oldskool and not just the new tosh that's coming out.

http://www.dontstayin.com/pages/findevents/mode-calendar - for all events. I would say that it depends where you go as to what events are about, but since your used to America pretty much everything will feel on your doorstep no matter how far it is.

regarding oldskool, i'm talking mid 90's to 2000's kinda stuff,
triquatra, when i make it over there i would love to meet up and have a stomp. i'd be bringing someone who is pretty new to the genre so i want to make it a good event.

awesome! you'd want to try and shoot for the summer, then you'll have no end of choice for events (no matter what genre!)

Hmm. Not many people playing it over here really. You might get the odd one set in an oldskool room at something like Slammin or HTID. Best party I've been to for that sort of stuff was History Of Hardcore in London. Not a very big party but it's a good little one with a nice atmosphere. Raindance would be my next bet for stuff like that. Get a huge variety of Hardcore and other genres there and it's always a great party. One of my favourites to go to. Be aware that they do big multi room events and much smaller ones too though.

best bet for oldskool mate
is Raindance which have regular events next big one is on NYE at SeOne, london and also a pure oldskool event in essex that night.
There is also Epidemik, their next event is on New Years Eve in london also with Innovation
other events to keep a look out for is History Of Hardcore which we had an event not to long ago.
london is thriving with oldskool at the moment, theres alot on.
start listening to www.eruptionhardcore.com its a pirate radio station with oldskool, upfront hardcore, jungle and dnb. Alot of events are advertised on there for whats coming up as well.
Good luck and hope to see ya out and about soon!

You say that like it's a bad thing lol.
There is usually a room dedicated to old Hardcore at HTID and Uproar etc. There is better much cheaper nights though more dedicated to that kind of thing (although not necessarily mid 90s happy stuff), but the problem is they aren't very regular whereas HTID etc are guaranteed every couple of months or so.

Haha nah I don't mean it like that. Just warning him really incase he is looking for bigger parties over here. I love my smaller parties personally. :)

Surprised no-ones mentioned this yet but if your looking for an event that pushes the Hardcore boundaries then you have to check out 'Freeformation' ran by Kevin Energy, Sharkey & a whole HOST of the Nu Energy family.

I think he would do well to avoid big ones personally, for reasons we both know.
