to me it's just too generic, cookie cutter AATW sound. over polished. everything about it I really dislike. Now listen to some mid 90s stuff, with the ruff sounds, and everything is slightly out of time because of the weird MIDI from hardware samplers, not all this clinical vst plugin nonesense. hardcore needs to go back to its roots ASAP.
the ideas were better back then too, there was more a DIY punk feel to it, and a 'let's ave it' attitude to the melodies, no one gave a **** if a meleody/chord was out of place it made it sound good along with the tough kickdrums and breaks.

That song doesn't have chords out of place and, no, it sounds like shit when notes are off key. Distorted kickdrums don't help at all.

They've done so many good vocal hardcore songs in the past which they could have released instead (Lose Me Forever, Velvet Skies, Open Your Eyes.. especially 'Lifting Me Higher' from HTID 3, which is better than this shit) and yet they decide to go with AEBY??

Either way you look at it on the vocal side Dougal and Gammer's best choon Fires In The Sky not remixed.

I like it, it's rather nice. :) If I wandered into some cheesy club up town I'd much rather listen to this that some RnB rubbish.
