I'll give another enthusiastic mention for the insanely powerful Hardcore Euphoria album. I loved hardcore at the time, like nothing else, but when I heard this album - fuuuuuking hell - took my appreciation of hardcore to another level, if that's possible. I was buzzing my face off on the train on the way to work for about six months. Amazing.
Didn't Ministry of Sound do Sound of Hardcore 2009 as well?
As for a general comment about the current state of album releases - I am WELL chuffed. There is so much to choose from. In regard to too many/too few/just the right amount - I think, to an extent, that that doesn't really matter, especially with the free stuff. If an album comes out in July, and I buy it, and I love it -it's not going to stop me buying another equally good album that comes out at the beginning of August. I don't have a pre-set internal hardcore quota that my brain needs to stick to. If it's good, I'll buy it - irrespective of whether something good came out recently.
Also, if someone's gone through the effort to produce an album for the genre of music that I love - I'm always going to give it consideration out of respect. I contribute nothing to the scene, yet there are people out there breaking their backs to barely break even on really interesting and demanding projects. Big up to all the people doing this.

In terms of variety, I'd say Helter Skelter takes the price. I mean, CD 1 Rave Breaks, CD 2 Jungle, CD 3 Hardcore (Rave Nation album). Except for the latest Helter Skelter which was purely Hardcore but luckily, unmixed. What's with those 10 minute edits of some tunes though? :S
@ tru bass - The newest Bonkers didn't have much that was even remotely "freeform". Thankfully HU4 was released, too, and CD4 there was ****ing epic and pure, filthy freeform!

Edit: and rave nation coem to think of it, that however is not a good album.
Helter Skelter Hardcore The New Genaration not a big fan of it I thought that whole album was a big disaster if you ask me.

100% Hardcore came out today which is released on the label Decadance.
Been to HMV in Wigan and they had 2 copies. 3 discs for 6 pounds. Its on the HMV site

oh i've had it since its release sir. this is a christmas present.
i also have "This Binary Universe" which i got him to sign when i saw him in chicago for NYE 07! *smug*
