If you're into the harder sounds or even not that into it but recognise a few tracks there's no arguing that you would've heard of our VERY special guest DJ for Ravers are: Twisted this Saturday November 20th. Every release is a monster that's pretty much guaranteed to get you stomping the floor like man possessed!!!

Ravers are: co-promoter DJ Pikey was very lucky to be able to grab 10 minutes with possibly the busiest person in the hardcore (gabber) scene, so without further delay, ladies & gentlemen we introduce to you......

Mr Kel van Soest.... AKA... EVIL ACTIVITIES

-

Pikey - Hi Kelly, thanks for taking the time to speak to us. Personally I can't wait till you touch down in Bristol and show the Ravers are: Twisted crowd what you're all about. We'd like to give our ravers a little insight into who you are and what you do so we'll start off by asking you what's been happening in Evil Activities' world lately?

EA - There's a lot going on. Many gigs, many meetings, many studio sessions, busy busy busy! It's all for the better though and I love my life. Next to that my wife is pregnant again so i'm looking at a (shit) load of extra work! And fun of course ;)

-

Pikey - Wow! Conrgratulations to you both! So the busiest person I know is about to be even busier if that's possible haha. You DJ every weekend and fly around the world to do so, what has been your favourite party this year so far?

EA - That's such a hard question to answer. I'm in the luxurious position where almost every gig is off the wall, but if I do have to answer the question, it would probably be Emporium (NL), Black Belgium, DefQon Australia, Summer Festival Belgium, Decibel (NL) or Dominator (NL)

-

Pikey - Ok that's 6 favourite parties!!! I've yet to attend an event over your side of the water but always hear good reports from the people that do. Hardcore (gabber) has a smaller scene here in the UK but we can still party hard! In your opinion, how does the UK crowd compare to other countries?

EA - More insane and louder than most countries! Although countries like France, Belgium and Australia tend to be very loud too :)

-

Pikey - That's good to hear! Ravers are: has a reputation for being a loud party! Your productions are always of the highest quality, when making tracks do you prefer to work alone or with another artist?

EA - I do prefer to work alone. I can be a bit stubborn sometimes if things don't feel right and I always 'go with my gut' as they say. Nevertheless i've worked along side a great deal of producers and loved that as well. You really can learn a lot from others if you've got an open mind and listen to people :)

-

Pikey - I see your point. You have worked alongside some of the greatest hardcore (gabber) producers, Is there any particular artist you enjoy working with the most?

EA - Not really. I'm really picky about with who i collaborate with. I worked with Neophyte on many productions which still is a great honor to me. He's one of the best and one of a kind.

-

Pikey - Neophyte certainly is a legend, one of my favourite tracks is Rocking with the best! In the Uk we have a few budding producers too, are there any UK artists you have or would like to work with?

EA - To be real with you...in Hardcore (gabber), not yet. As I say i'm really picky about it. In the studio you have to feel good to perform so I should know them personally. Next to that, I really want to learn from this person as I know the other will learn from me too. I'm open minded and what's not now can change really quick.

-

Pikey - Which brings me on to my next question. Do you make or play any other styles?

EA - Yes I do as a matter of fact. I produce and dj under my hardstyle alias Max Enforcer. I need to do different things in my studio as you wouldn't eat fish and chips every day too. You don't want things to be the same each and every day. Then your a walking dead person. Different is good. Change is great. Fear of the unknown is short sighted.

-

Pikey - So hardcore, hardstyle and a busy life with your kids!!! I don't know when you get time to relax!!! When you're not doing music, what Evil Activities does Evil activities get up to?

EA - Work. Music is still my hobby, but if i'm not in the studio, i'm probably busy doing interviews, having meetings, helping other artists, managing the labels etc etc. With the little time I got left I love to go shopping with my wife or play soccer with my son. Xbox or for real, the kid kicks my ass. The force is strong with him Yoda would say L.O.L :)

-

Pikey - Sounds like you need some more practise then haha. We've had a few drinks the last times we met but what is your poison? (Fav drink)

EA - I love a cold draft in the summer, a cold bottle of beer in clubs, at home a nice red or white wine, I never say no to a glass of good champagne and when i'm getting drunk i'd switch to Bacardi and Coke and Sambuca shots :)
But trust me when I say I don't drink too much these days. I've got a lot on my mind and a hangover is something i'm too busy for.

-

Pikey - So now if the ravers in Bristol see you at the bar they know what to get ya ;-) haha. One last thing before we say goodbye, any words to the Ravers are: Twisted crowd that are coming to see you on Nov 20th?

EA - Get your dancing shoes on and your throats clear and use them well. If we connect this saturday, i'll take you to the end of the world!

-

Pikey - I'm pretty sure we'll all be ready for you mate. Thanks for your time, see ya Saturday!!!

There you have it folks, words from the Evil one!!! For any more info about Evil Activities and his hardstyle alias, Max Enforcer - check out the links below:
