You're right to say what you did, however, i have never once in the entire history of me posting on this site ever made a post for the sake of spam or to get my post count up or anything like that. If i post it's because i feel like it. The difference becomes rapidly obvious when you see people who have been registered to the site not nearly as long as me and are not that far behind with the post count.

3. Useless poster > not going to say as his head will go bigger!
4. My hubby no contest especially when he uploads great mixes that he spends a lot of money on and time and the knowledge that he really likes to share his mixes with people on here although i wished more people would comment on his mixes so he feels his free uploads and actual enjoyment of doing said mixes is welcomed and appreciated on here

1) Luna-C:
http://www.happyhardcore.com/forums/topic.asp?topic_id=52003&SearchTerms=Luna-c&whichpage=3 "The main reason no new talent gets through is because the scene isn't big enough. The amount of people at the top is directly related to the amount of people at the bottom. Unless the scene expands, nothing else can expand. And hardcore has been static or shrinking in the last 10 years or so, not growing. Everything is a cycle. The reason for the scene staying static is that when all the record sales dropped, many of the artists stuck to what they knew would sell, because they couldn't afford to lose money. This is self perpetuating, ie the fact that they only sold what was safe, meant that only safe music would sell. When the scene bottomed out and reached its lowest point, everything stopped progressing, because there was no room for progression if everyone is playing safe. But lack of progression in music leads to stagnation, so nothing new can grow. People come into the rave scene, and are bored of it a year later and leave again. The result is nothing changes, and it wont change, because every year there is a new group of people joining just as the old group leave. This means there is no foundation, except for the people who stayed with it during the fall - ie, Hixxy, Sy, etc etc. While its commendable that they stayed with it and didn't leave, everyone got into a routine based on the working of a stagnant scene, because that is all that can work. For it to change, there will need to be a lot of new, fresh sounding music, so that the people who joined last year are still interested, and will remain with the scene instead of leaving. For that to happen, the people at the top have to take risks - which is unlikely to happen - or the people at the bottom have to release better music themselves and not sign with the biggest labels. Not because of anything against the biggest labels, but because they need to be shaken out of their safety zone, and the best way to do that is through competition. None of what we need can be organized by any one person, it cant be controlled nor forced. It takes a lot of the new producers sticking with it despite no immediate reward, it takes patience, commitments, and most of all, it takes integrity - something the hardcore scene is sadly lacking. Even so, it will happen. It is inevitable, because no music ever really dies, it just goes through periods of waiting. The hardcore scene has been "flat" for a while now, so I am hopeful that it will start to change in the next few years. I am hoping the latest batch of good producers will stick around, and will get their music out there without compromise. In this, the MP3 deal has leveled the playing field, so I hope it will work for the scene rather than against it, because the truth is, you don't need the big labels anymore - you don't need anything but yourself and a willingness to take a few risks." This, for me, is maybe the singular greatest post I've read on here. 2) Audio Warfare: Although the help and advice he has given me over the last two years or so have been via PM's he really is the most helpful person on this site in my mind. So knowledgeable about music production, passionate about music and generally an all round great guy to speak to. 3) Smoogie: Sorry Smoogs. You know I don't have anything personal against you. I know your not as single minded as what you appear to be when you post on here but you really do need to change your record. We all know what music you like so stop forcing in our faces all the time! 4) Dunno.

I know, I see people here with a ridiculous post count with such a small amount of time here. Another forum I'm registered too, I frequent it daily, been registered nearly 5 years now and I have even less posts there than I do here. I don't think I've ever gotten anywhere near 1000 posts on any forum.
I see you'll be here nearly 10 years soon, with ~7500 posts, I see that a reasonable amount and from what I've heard this site used to get a lot more posts back in the day than now so it's understandable you have such a high post count.
I've never really been a fan of the post count, I don't mind being able to see your own but other than that, I see no reason for it. I much rather a reputation system, where you actually get rewarded with a + or a -, but that's a different topic altogether.
(Also out of curiosity, how many posts do you need to get the tag 'Advanced Member'?)
Back on topic now:
1. I really have no idea, there's been a lot of quality posts this year amongst the shite, to pick one would be difficult.
2. Although he died down about with his posts near the end of the year, Triquitra gets my vote.
3. phantom40 (not sure if the number is correct) poor troll is poor.
4. Hard2Get. His posts always seem well thought out, and he seems like a really nice guy.

1. Really difficult to remember individual posts specifically. I enjoyed Briskgate a lot. There were also a couple of classics posts in a thread where Triquatra and Lilley (I think it was those two) were having this bizarre hypothetical argument about how the moon's orbit around the earth would be altered if you were to launch a rocket on it. Not actual humorous content, but the nature of it was hilarious in it's own way.
2. Mortis, Kathryn and Brian K are always really, really quick to help ID tracks for people. So I guess those guys. Actually, I'll give a mention to Craig from NSR (redwingz) as well. He's always willing to give long and detailed posts. I remember one about all the hassle of releasing physical CDs that was interesting.
3. I'm gonna go with 95_was_the_time. At least Smoogie reveals some kind of passion when he's posting his repetitive stuff. 95_was_the_time just posts insults and has shitty little child-like digs at things. Pisses me right off.
4. It's a close one between Lilley, Hard2Get, Meathead and Mortis. Can't decide at the moment. Oh, and also NekoShuffle. Always superbly crafted observations and counter arguments. Nice writing style, too.
