A couple of tracks from 2010. They are both remixes or adaptations from songs you'll probably recognize.
First:
Second:
Both tracks were more experimental than anything and I was just flexing muscles with them really. So neither are remarkably well produced, but compared other tracks I've posted on this forum, its a big step forward for me. Any suggestions where I am going wrong though, feel free to let me know, I'm always open to feedback.

The First one - I stopped listening after 1:20 because from 1:09 the 'Piano' gets tangled up with itself, imo, too many totally unnecessary notes which spoilt the ethos of what you had going and didn't bode well for the rest of the track....
The Second one - I gave up at 0:37 because, imo, the Bassline should change to follow the melody and sounds 'wrong', which suggested that you've rushed it and didn't notice or erroneously decided it was OK.
....and we've been tempted to have a crack at 'Eliza's Journey' but decided it's a bit too bleedin' obvious.
They're both valid, worthwhile ways of learning your craft so carry on but, imo, stick with originality or at least something that will benefit from being Hardcored up. ;)

I actually cannot believe you remixed that advert tune. Every time i hear it my brain hurts because it is so depressingly SHIT.

This is often deliberate, very often, and i often do it. You don't want to give away the entire melody in the intro! Need to tease people a bit :P It changes in the rest of the song.

Understood there's 'teasing' but, when the melody is that well known, imo, it's just "....oh, ffs!"

Shame you couldnt give them more of a chance but oh well.
Did you like the eye in the top right hand side though?
The eye is excellent.
As for giving the tracks more of a chance?
How about using this as a lesson in catching people's attention in the first 30 seconds without putting them off?
Without suggesting that they might be wasting their extremely hard won and valuable free time?
(whilst bearing in mind that there's an awful lot of them out there with the attention span of a budgie)
That of course is a very fine art.... and, if you master it, please be kind enough to let us know how it's done.
P.S.
oh yeh, I just happened to be listening to the First track, Swedish House Mafia, whilst typing this reply and, No.
It was all a bit monosyllabic, not interesting at all.... until 4:34, when all of a sudden, it finally came to life! Yes.
If you can 'interest it up a bit.... ;)
P.P.S.
....oh, go on then.... 'What'shername's Journey'.
OK but fairly predictable. You should have taken more liberties with it. Ripped it apart and then put it back together, if that makes sense.
Most importantly of all, you must always bear in mind that I could be wrong
....and, if you like, rubbish our label artwork. ;)

Enjoyed the 'One' remix despite the aforementioned 'unnecessary' bits. I'm no producer but i recognise effort when i see it. And while i despise LloydsTSB with a passion (and THAT tune) I like what you did with it.
Good work, lookiong forward to hearing more original stuff

I think a freeform mix (in style of Hardcore Beast) of One would sound better, considering how the original sounds like

Had a listen.
Out of the 2 tracks, Eliza's seemed to be better produced and in general more listenable. The choice of sounds for Eliza's was better as well. The one thing I would suggest is variation. Seemed to me like the whole track was just variations on the same loop. The middle part with the glitch was nice, though, but it still begs for more variation on my end.

when I saw more comments on this thread, i honestly thought this thread was going to be a public hanging with my tracks at the gallows, but I'm pleased to see constructive comments, I'll bear them in mind and learn from them :) Thanks :)
