The melody sounds awfully like an other rather well known song with the same title. Coincidence, deliberate or do i need to wash my ears out and stop seeing things that aren't there!?

Oh right. The impression I got was that you didn't know what track he was talking about, oh well. I can hear what DMS is on about though, it does sound very similar to the melody F&S used.

I knew it was a bit vague, but even an untrained ear like mine picked up on it. Just trying to be interesting for a change. At least the topic title wasn't -
OMG!!!! LUPE FIASCO LIKE TOTALLY RIPPED OFF SHINING DOWN!!!!111!!
...or something

that's the funny thing about mainstream music is if this song was actually inspired by F&S Shining Down, Lupe Fiasco's hoodrat mind wouldn't know it. It's really all down to the producers.

Agreed.
Same reason every other R'n B song lately is a rip off of a trance or eurodance tune!

very true. he is a hoodrat and i classify him as ghetto, but not hardcore enough to be a gangsta
