I am looking at startin out Djing/mixing hardcore more the commercial hardcore side of things with a bit of this and a bit of that in there but solely hardcore. In terms of equipment with the genre of music I want to mix in mind would I be better with vinyl decks or CDjs?
Im doing a hella load of research at the minute and the general consensus is to get vinyl decks learn on them and then invest in a cdj or 2?
Need advice?
Thanks :)

def cd jays to way to go. unfort alot of record labels are converting to mp3.
though there is always the options like Serato or Torq which also allows you to mix mp3s from your computer onto vinyl.

I still say CDJs, just cos labels are in MP3 doesn't mean you can't burn a CD.
Maybe try and find a CDJ with USB/CD/MP3CD capabilities.

CD decks all the way. If you're just getting into it then that's the way to go. It's cheaper in the long run and most clubs are using CDJ's. Vinyl is great but it's just not worth the investment now, it's true you can't beat the feeling of mixing vinyl but it's too expensive when compared to buying MP3's.

In terms of Genre, mix what you like :)
If you intend to upload mixes to this radio, try to not play the same music as everyone else.
What I've heard so far is that barely anyone play older stuff on here.

if you wanna play records that are available on vinyl then get 1210s if the tunes you like are mp3 only then go for CDJs. As much as I love vinyl CDJs do have an advantage in that you can get more 320kbps MP3s of old skool tunes than you can get vinyls of upfront. But if you only want to play 1995 hardcore for example then get turntables.
One warning about turntables is that they have a massive tendancy to let you down in clubs. Seen many DJs turn up with a big bag of vinyl and unfortunately the turntables are not working. This isn't a fault with turntables themselves just the fact they aren't maintained/set up right in most clubs because they are sadly neglected and eclipsed by CD decks nowadays.
So yeah, go with whatever supports the music you like the best! I thought I would be a turntables guy but then I got CDJ100S and never looked back! Don't get too caught up in an idea, sometimes you have to just think ahead and make the best choice.

Unless you can hear each track individually i.e the track that is playing and the track you are trying to cue up (separately from the track that's playing) then it's not worth the money. All it would do is record both tracks at the same time. Auto beat match on programs like this are total shit so you'd need to be able to cue one track up separately from the playing track.

If you think this is gunna be a serious decision for you and you are going to stick at it, maybe play in a few clubs at some point. Then i would look at getting pioneer cdj's. They are club standard and imo by far the best cdj to use. So once you learn on them and are good enough, walk into pretty much any club and they will have pioneers!! And i agree with all the others about NOT going onto vinyl, I loved my turntables and still have them, But labels are dissapearing and tbh you got about 5 serious labels on vinyl, And imo a lot of the decent hardcore coming out at the mo, is from the digital only labels!!! With mp3's you have always got a choice of tracks, with vinyl, it is VERY VERY limited!!! Hope that helps buddy

Yep. Sadly CDJ's are the way to go.
You'd be throwing money away buying decks to mix hardcore (unless you only want older stuff)
