A Legend has passed away sadly lately http://www.ulsterrugby.com/news/8947.php Ben, he hit his head went off and came back on hit his head again and went on life support which was turned off yesterday :( All My wishes are with Bens family, This has just got me thinking how many of you actually play rugby and is it really worth these injurys at an U15-16 Level of play or is it just your time up? Hearing stories like this really makes people think about quiting the sport but we have to think do we really love it that much to go through all this, are we willing to go to hell and back? Ive been quite thankful after hearing this to only been caught up in a torn ligament and KO'd in a tackle at my first year playin rugby properly, U15 btw please reply with your thoughts... Rip Ben Robinson :/

i've never played it but i've watched it a few times and it is really intense. i like it way better than american football as it's faster paced and in great physical shape. the sport is very demanding and i dont' see many if not any american football players to be able to handle what players in rugby do.
it is sad news that Ben died, but no sport comes without its risks. you can always prepare for the worst, but no matter how well prepared you are, something can always go wrong. it is personal choice if after many injuries, even severe ones, that you continue playing. you can look really brave and heroic doing so, but some will consider it foolish.

That's very sad. The same thing happened to a mate of mine, only 18 and died of a head injury after hitting the ground very hard from a heavy tackle.
It didn't stop us from playing though 'cos you always think that it won't happen to you....
