I think lowering the drinking age in america would make very little sence anyway, just wait til you're old enough.

I was out drinking when I was 13-17 on like a crate a night (20x bottles of beer) and it really isn't good for you.. You're just not smart enough to have any restraint.

The U.S. makes such a big deal about the drinking age though, and as a result there's more alcoholics and kids doing stupid things. They tease you with the idea of alcohol and make it look like the best thing ever, then say NO NOT UNTIL YOU'RE 21. You know what happens when you make a big deal over something you're not supposed to do, kids go and DO IT. It's also a parenting matter. If you don't want your kid doing something, don't get them all riled up.

Sorry, kind of a rant :[

No your absolutely right, the very thing that stops them from drinking till 21 is the same one that causes them to probably do it and be immature about it under age. No doubt about it. It's not a coincidence that the legal drinking age in places like Germany is like 16 etc (or younger i don't remember), and even then the law are very loose, that there is very little alcohol problems. You treat people like kids and they will act like kids, it's that simple.

It's a bit worrying that you've drank frequently enough to get that kind of tollerance :P Although it's normal in England.

Absolutely. Funny thing is that it's cheaper in pubs than lager usually yet the quality is many times better. Makes me laugh.

16 for wine and beer, 18 for liquor.
Tmo you should reduce the age limit to 14 and install a limit of alcohol amount for people under 18. I think it sounds ridiculous, that you are allowed to drink bock beer (7-8%), but Alcopos (5-6%) are forbidden for youngsters. And what are the consequences? Youngsters buy Vodka and mix their own 50-50 drink.
