So i usually do trance but love happy hardcore. What are some tips on how to make HH music(preferably w/ FL Studio)? Thanx for the replies:)

Just keep the Bass pumpiing more. Whereas Trance is usually more focussed on the melodies, Happy Hard keeps that bass pumping while (sometimes) trying to balance between bass and melodies plus dont' forget your High Hats. LOL

do hardcore how you think hardcore should be done, your influences, ideals etc are what makes your style unique which is always a good thing in such a small scene. just as long as it can be identified as hardcore you should be fine - oh and put thought into it, don't just churn out songs etc! this is of course up to you but the more time you put in, the better it will come out (90% of the time) if you make music already then you're probably already familiar with this concept and knowing what good music sounds like as opposed to rushed and unfinished music. good luck

random tips:

never go under 170 bpm, although I encourage 190+ ;D

kick + bass + off beat hats + awesome melody (real melody, not just random notes shuffling around) = highest level of power and energy!

tip: if you are producing in your computer and suddenly you stand up and find yourself jumping in the middle of your room... you are making Hardcore!

... if you are still jumping, you are still making hardcore :D

layer your synths

1/8 off-beat bass is cool, but 3/32 make it bouncier

please, please don't make intros of 2 minutes with nothing more than a kick kicking

while melodies are very important, wierd and dark/evil noises and riffs and great too and bring a good contrast to the mix.

badass badass badass!! thats is what you have to aim to

Each to their own but I'd stay below 170bpm and ditch off-beat bass and open hats. I think my preferred style of Hardcore might be different though! ; p
