How do you get news on the homepage? Like a CD release for example?
Can anyone submit news? Or do you need to email it to Silver or another mod?

Anyone can submit news. Click on "news" on the nav bar at the top, at the bottom of the page you'll see an "add news" link. Hit that and start filling it in.
Silver has quite specific guidelines on what news he accepts but a CD release should be OK to go on the front page I would think.

This topic of conversation has been floating around over the last few weeks, Craig. A few of us are interested in making a concerted effort to start getting some more news flowing (see what I did there) on the front page.

Awesome! Thanks for the help.
I dont plan to go throwing mp3 releases on there lol. But we do have an exciting project coming up and as its a physical CD, I would think it warrants a little news column :)

That's totally front-page-worthy mate. And I think you should push to get MP3 releases on the front page. It's exactly the kind of news that we need on here, not to mention potential new visitors to the site. It's so baron at the moment. What are people gonna say? "God, I'm so fcuked off they keep posting menial MP3 releases in the news section".
Remind me of the release date of the new album

Aaaah I did look for the submit news button but didn't find it anywhere last time I looked. I follow quite a few goings on in the scene so I'll be happy to submit news too. I think if silver creates a News Moderator (much like an event moderator) to check over the news first we could get a nice news feed flowing. I like the fact everyone can submit news because we all have different aspects of hardcore that we're interested in and different artists we follow so we should cover quite a wide field of news.

Silver said that he doesn't put MP3 or digital album releases on the front page as he no longer has a digital news mod. Leto used to do it but he doesn't post on here much anymore. I did say to Silver that I'm sure he would have a lots of offers for the mod position if he asked but so far he's not mentioned it.

I know the guy's got a lot on his plate, but that's not a great excuse. As you say - all it takes is for someone to step up and Mod it and we're good to go.
I'd volunteer myself, but I only have a relatively narrow knowledge of hardcore - just the upfront stuff. Plus travelling around, my connectivity isn't always guaranteed.

Yeahhh I remember Leto doing that actually. He did a damn good job of it too. These days there are so many mp3s coming out each month it would be a big task for someone to collate them all.

Dunno Jay. I do the events and I've said to Silver I can do more mod work if he wants but he said he doesn't want to give me too much to do. To be honest I'd welcome more mod work, I love doing it.

Well, it's not Silver's thought if he thinks your an incompetent Mod and can't handle a bit more work.

Mmm. Well, if he knows that, there's not much more you can do. The worst that's gonna happen is that, even if you're lazy/busy, more digital news is gonna get posted. I can't see it being anything other than a win-win situation. You're too busy - more stuff gets posted. You're not busy - loads more stuff gets posted.
