share a room in a house with some other people.

living styles may clash but ultimately i believe you get more livable space for less.

plus, house parties.

So if i said "shittest" instead of "gayest' it would have made a difference? don't nitpick

Yes. You're using a term that refers to homosexual people to proclaim how "shitty" it is. What do you have against gay people? ;)

My sister is 28, her room mate and his boyfriend are both 30, obviously gay, and they use the word "gay" to describe bad things all the time.

It's not immature and i don't have anything against homosexuals. It's a common modern colloquialism that everyone from my generation uses.

Might be different where you are, but that's how it is here.

I really want my own place but half my paycheck every week to go on rent? then food and electricity, water etc... im just worried that if i get sick or something and can't work, then i'm going to be ****ed, you know?

I spose when you move out with someone else you have that security blanket that someone else is covering half the costs... I'm just not sure if that aspect is a big enough 'pro' to weigh out the 'con' of having MY place.

i'm totally lost in this decision lol

Pfft. Living alone is for someone who wants to own the property themselves and has 100% say in everything. :P If you're that worried then take out payment protection insurance.

I've worked out that i'll be spending:

~1600/month rent
~100/month electricity (it comes quarterly)
~30/month water (also comes quarterly)
~150/week food
~100/month cigarettes
~100/month on random toiletries and medications (pain killers etc)
~80/month on internet
~80/month on phone

Anything i'm forgetting as a necessity?

That equals ~2500/month on spending and i'll be earning ~2800/month from my 9-5, plus ~100/week from music (i'd have to cut down on the hours) or music-related jobs.

This means i can save (or spend) ~400/month or ~100/week.

Translated to GBP:

spending ~1500 GBP/month on everything i listed
earning ~ 1800 GBP/month, meaning spending (or saving) 300 GBP/month (or 75/week)

What you reckon? doable?

I pay about 700e/month (~1000AUD) for water, electricity, loan plus interests. Renting an apartment would be cheaper for me.
