For mixing (live), I don't think FL is any good, as it is for production. But for making studio mixes, it might work well, as long as you can beatmix the tracks properly

sometimes with studio mixed albums they will record a mix on decks then balance out the EQs and so on in FL Studio or something to optimise it for hi-fi equipment and stuff and sometimes they will do the entire mix in something like FL Studio by sticking the tracks together and beatmatching them correctly. I believe ableton has/had a feature to do this but I'm not 100%
either way I think it's a bad idea, EQs should be managed by the DJ anyway and if you stick songs together you lose a lot of momentum that comes across in a set mixed then and there. Some producers will use production software to do their promo mixes which is fine imo because they're not trying to do a set but instead are just trying to showcase their own music.

yeah give it a go by all means, no harm in trying. But yeah trance is a bit different, I can't really mix normal trance because it's meant to be seamless and 'blended' whereas in hardcore I can do cuts and stuff and it's a lot more fast paced which is what I'm used to. Psytrance is good in that respect; you can blend it or cut it and building up sets is so much fun, I have to say I enjoy mixing psytrance even if I'm not that good at it.

also if you cant do live mixing because of your dysphraxia then doing studio mixes like this and putting them out on the internet might be a bloody good compromise! give it a shot!

It does, and as for using fl to do studio mixes... its pretty hard to beatmatch in fl studio but for touch ups after recording one from doing it on decks, it would be fine. Altought i might just be trying to beatmatch them wrong
Edit:yes i was doing it wrong, but its not as nice as abeltons, and it has its issues

i found a way to get them perfect i just fit them to a set tempo it comes up with an estimated tempo around 85bpm n it gives u options like 75-150 & 100-200 i just click the 100-200 button n it fits it to the tracks exact tempo (well pretty much exact) n it means i can make a split track mix aswell by beatmatching the songs then taking away the strt of the next track n saving whats left as an individual file then doing it all over agen til the mix is done coz i've tried to do a full mix a few times n it keeps saying run out of memory so i'm gonna put them together to make one whole mix wen it's finished without streching them as thats what i think is makin it come up with the out of memory message lol
