i vote we get rid of the sub generes that seem to be forming and reunite under one tent of HARDCORE, hardcore is in all the names and therefore seems to be the logical one, whos with me, lets ban this sub genere thing before we end up like the house and trance secnes!!!

i vote everyone stfu's about genres sub geners or whatever, in theory it is all hardcore, in practice its far different, something like Energy & sharkey - take me up, to shooting star... theres a lot of difference, enough difference than there is between progressive trance & trance....
although,, people always will make up there own categorys, i just say i play Dark hardcore/Freeofmr (not really definable)
but you cant just call it ALL hardcore, it is... but all forms of trance are trance, all forms of house are house, but they have sub geners, and they general need them too
Garage Is where You Keep Your ****in Car
House Is where You Live
Hardcore Is HOW You Live

Right ... I gotta say, I don't entirely agree with your point that songs not mixing = different genres, but I recognise your right to recognise as many genres as you think are require.
But no ... I don't think a lot of the sub-genres in trance are justified (well, most of them, anyway). From my perspective the genre lines have been drawn so narrowly that, within each genre, EVERY SONG SOUNDS THE SAME.
Oh, and then you got the fact that, in general, the many of the sub-genres sound so damn similar that you wonder whether they exist at all, or whether some lame-ass DJ just put that next to his name to make himself sound different, and everyone else went along with the joke =P
^^ this is exactly the kind of scenario that I don't want hardcore in.
*edit* For the record, I recognise HHC, Freeform and Trancecore
