Yeah basically its the actual recording from the 999 phone call that Leah's parents made while trying to revive her. You can hear the step-Mother telling the ambulance service that her daughter is 18 and has taken ecstacy and alcohol and that her husband is giving her mouth to mouth and then asking him if she is breathing and then telling the woman on the phone that she isnt breathing.
Leah actually died from water intoxication after drinking the equivelent of 15 pints of water in just 90 minutes after taking ecstacy. So while the ecstacy didnt kill her, she wouldnt have drank all the water if it wasnt for that, as its understood that she wasnt dancing or anything. Its thought that drinking so much water alone would not kill you, neither would taking the drug alone. But the reaction of the drug in her body stopped her being able to urinate and as a result diluted her blood.
How that phonecall sample got into the public domain to the extent where a music producer got it i dont know. The track was given away for free I think (I have it somewhere) but to this day I have never heard a DJ use it in a set.

Just like the same way, how news about a caught celebrities spread out only hours after getting busted driving drunk or be on any other kind of drugs:
Some bored police officer looking for some attention or having financial problems with a good connection to the red-top press.

you can die of water intoxication alone without having to take ecstasy or any other type of drug. in the US radio shows used to have water-drinking contests and ppl have died because of them. too much of anything is bad for you.
and imo putting a sample from a 911 call into a song in any genre is going a bit too far and it should have never been produced with them.
i'll take a listen to it later i'm making dinner now! :)

Yeah i think it's completely inappropriate and rightlyfully should never be played out anywhere.

I just love the overall mood of the track. It's definitely one of the darkest tunes around, much thanks to the sample.
Also, I JUST CAN'T GET OVER HOW AMAZING "FUNDAMENTAL DARKNESS" IS!! And not the version on HU2010 but the version that was released on NUNRG! <3

The only thing out of the track that I found really dark was the sample, the rest of it was just... really generic, nothing all that interesting - or dark - about it.
I'd have to say that if you want to make a dark song, and resort to using a sample to make it dark, you've failed at doing so; especially if you've used a real emergency number call, which is going a bit too far really...

Since a) Freeform seems to be growing in popularity on here and in general, and b) I've actually developed a half-decent Freeform library since this thread was created - I thought I might kick it back into life.
Here's mine. There are undoubtedly one or two that I've forgotten to include, but it can't be far off my actual Top 10.
Sharkey - Ascending Angels.
Helikaon vs Ephexis - Iliad.
Kevin Energy vs Ephexis - Reality Control.
Solution & Ephexis - Elements.
Cooper - Acid Is My Sound.
ASA + S1 - Trance Overload.
A.B vs SynthWulf - Genre This!
Kevin Energy & Solution - Eternal Shadows.
Eryk Orpheus - 35 Cycles.
Impact & Nemesis - Cocaine.
Ponder - Alignment (Greg Peaks' Ultraviolet Remix).
Nick 235 & NarKotiK - The Chant.
A.B & Douglas Vs DJ Ned - Hold On.

I know!! 2009 is when I basically learnt what Freeform (generally speaking!) was. Late 2010/2011 is when I really got going.
And that's another reason why I started up the Freeform Track Of The Day thread.
