Producers take note. This is how to write tracks. It's had so much work on it it's untrue. Non of your cookie cutter nexus going on here. Pure time and effort.
The only producer who takes time on his tracks to this kind of effort these days is Shimamura.

Didn't mind that at all. Though for production effort, I still point to sparrowsound, kid was about 16-17 when he released free to a good home?

lost me a bit in the middle but that kind of drum n bass isn't totally my bag but yeah, you can hear the effort put into that track, no templates used, just pure quality music. It gives me so much hope and inspiration when I see producers like this, makes me wanna work to a much higher standard and really up my game.

How can you criticise people using nexus and compare it to this track, when the beat to that track is a cut up amen break?

It takes considerably more skill to cut up and sample and re-arrange it like this than it does to select a pre-set on a vst.

i meant because it's such a common practice... the amen break is probably the most overused sample in the world.
Sorry i just had the impression it was a knock at originality

Ahh, I see where you're coming from now. My comment wasn't a knock on originality more so on the amount of time and effort put into something like this when compared to layering a few pre-sets. Don't get me wrong it does take a little skill to layer stuff and make it sound good but that's nothing compared to cutting and placing samples to this extent.

it would be considerably easier to do nowadays - back then it would have been much trickier.
throw an acidized amen in cubase and you can chop and edit till your nads fall off
