according to Rolling Stone magazine readers that is. They took a poll from their readers to name these worst songs and here are the results. btw there is also a list for 10 worst 80s songs in the favorite 80s songs topic I created so check it out

anyways top 10 worst songs of the nineties according to Rolling Stone readers are:

10. 4 non blondes- what's up?


9. right said fred- I'm too sexy


8. baha men- who let the dogs out?


7. celine dion- my heart will go on


6. hanson- mmmbop


5. chumbawamba- tubthumping


4. vanilla ice- ice ice baby


3. billy ray cyrus- achy breaky heart


2. los del rio- macarena


AND the #1 is surprisingly NOT Spice Girls! Aqua- Barbie Girl



personally I don't find these songs to be that terrible, just extremely overplayed.

well they're explanation for having baha men there is that the decade technically didn't end till the last day in 2000. same thing went for the millenium. altho it doesn't make sense that they added vanilla ice on there and that got released in 1990, which is the last year in the 80s decade (technically speaking)

and according to wiki they're still producing and still playing at concerts. that's so sad.

How are those votes set up? Are people asked to give their least favourite song of the 90's, and then after X amount of votes, the top ten are selected? Or do they get offered a reduced list to pick from?

Barbie Girl? Worst? Fcuk that. I like it.

As Brian said - the entire Spice Girls' discography comes above (well, below) all of those tunes.

Spice Girls and Aqua are pretty good. Even though you don't like them you can't deny that musically they are far from the worst. There is some fine examples of awful in that list though, for sure.

I don't see any wrong in those songs except they are pretty much embarrasing to listen to. I also forgot how hot that Aqua girl is/was :P

Lets not forget vengaboys, they were responsible for some of humanities greatest hate crimes.

Not to mention the whole boyband craze. Five doing we will rock you should be permanently struck from history.

It's a likeable enough tune, the first ten times you hear it, but it's a rubbish song.
