Go to Switzerland instead! Honestly I'd say Sweden, family has said it can be a fun place to go too.

I'm obviously partial to saying Norway ;p Go in late spring/early summer and see the fjords. Weather is usually best around then, and the fjords look spectacular :)

If you're going for more of a city vacation (which I'm guessing is what you're after, since you're also thinking about Rome), then I'd say probably Stockholm, but Oslo can be nice too, however it's smaller. Of course, if you go to Oslo we can grab a beer ;)

Id choose Norway, mainly for the nature. Sweden is much like Finland, only that that they don't have Finnish under the Swedish in signs, like they do here in Swedish speaking areas :P If you're thinking of a city trip, id just buy a six pack and stay home.

I'm really partial to Norway - i've not been there before, Holland we used to go every other year when i was a kid as a holiday, so, whilst i'd like to go back - its not something thats top of the list - spain is basically off the list for the minute, its not really somewhere i've ever wanted to go as far as tourist destinations its kinda seen as a whitetrashy cheep holiday destination ;) (though im sure its not like that all over!)

wouldn't leave norway without having a beer with you noddy ;)

Lol I've not been to either but i agree with your logic. Far too much good scenery to bother with cities.

indeed, citys wouldnt bother me too much when visiting Norway and Sweden - and perhaps Austria ;)

Rome would be deliberate (obviously) though as a city - and moreover where we are thinking of having our wedding anniversary (we've been married almost 3 years and still no honeymoon!)

If you're thinking city, and providing you've not been there before, I would take Venice over Rome any day.

I'm lucky enough to have been to Rome twice and Venice three or four times - and Venice is just phenomenal. Rome is fantastic, don't get me wrong - but for a genuinely "Fcuking hell this really is great" experience, get yourself to Venice mate. At night it is simply the most atmospheric place to be. It sounds incredibly clichd, but I don't care - that's really how it is.

DO IT!

Yes. Venice is unreal, and the prices also, at least some places :p Beautiful town! Bought me some of those carnival masks, and a captain's hat that says Venezia. Life was good!
