Been getting into some Oldl classics from Belgium latley and what I heard has blown me away!
Also can the mods please not delete this topic, it is not often Belgium gets a mention on here but you could say they where some of the earliest founders of Hardcore and their tunes had a huge impact on many!

As this topic is about a specific genre and not posting random videos, i see absolutely no reason to lock it. In other words; you can make a topic about oldschool hardcore and post videos on it, you cant make 10 random topics where you post oldschool hardcore. Its only to keep the forum clean.

ok fair enough
Anyway back on topic what does everyone think of Belgium Techno? They where often described as being rather advanced and I believe that most Hardcore of today has its roots in Belgium Techno, both 'UK Hardcore' and even Gabber

I wouldn't class any of it Hardcore really, apart from the second tune. Just Euro cheese!
The forth tune isn't really Hardcore anyway. I guess you could class it as rave? Still a lot better than that Clubland shite which itself is no where is nearly as bad as 'Minimal drops'
It doesn't change that it got him into Hardcore though lol, and could have got into it when he was 8. What you linked is in a different league to what Smoogie linked to. Far less cheesy.

wasn't being nasty to him! but have a feeling he relates Smoogies cheesy suggestions to tracks he heard when he was older (other eurodance) that got him into hardcore, and yeah there was a lot of good tracks that came out of Belgium 1990-91 that were the forerunner tho the Dutch gabba scene! they were well ahead of their time!

Quadrophonia were Dutch, but the first got success with a Belgian Record Label. Good tracks, good music....Yet still the only thing Belgian is famous for musically is the Saxaphone! (or may be Front 242).

Didn't know Quadraphonia where Dutch? Still it is seen as one of the earliest Hardcore tunes although often thought as being from 1991 the first release was infact 1990!
