Saville died this afternoon.

This man pretty much invented clubs and social dancing in the 1940's to relieve the pressure and reality of the Second World War, in his hometown Leeds. There's a great article on him and his contribution in 'Last Night A DJ Saved My Life' - a book that studies the development of DJing.

This guy contributed toward how we party today, and I'd imagine that if he hadnt introduced clubbing as he did, we wouldn't have the style of music we listen to today.

Rest In Peace

He also raised 20m over the years for charity. He's awesome, will be sorely missed.

Indeed and so much of his chairty work seemed to go unnoticed, probably due in part to his flamboyance image.

He did so much work for the Hospital down the road from me in Aylesbury, I know he used to volunteer their as well.

Had to look him up to find out who he was, and anyone who smokes a cigar and awesome jump suits fits well with me.
