One of those DVD's was the Defying Gravity TV series, and jesus christ that was awesome. It was like Stargate Universes hot twin sister.
Oh My GOD. I thought I was the only one to have ever seen it. Can't BELIEVE it was cancelled!! Did you read up on it? About the big balls-up that lead to it being cancelled?
I also read about what the plans for more series of it would have been. Sounded like it was going to be fcuking amazing. I was distraught for days when I found out it was all over.

I didn't find much about the cancellation, except that ABC in US only took it in in the last minute, so they didn't have time for advertising. And because it was so late, they couldn't go to e.g. Scifi Channel anymore.
Did read the wikipedia article for it, and the 'what would have happened' the next morning (the Nadia part made me think of you :P). Would have been an awesome ride. Though i was also glad the first season didn't end in a huge cliffhanger and got some closure.
The thing is, i only found out about the series on Amazon's recommendations. I love scifi, especially space scifi, so i get all exited whenever theres a new series on the line. But didn't hear about this anywhere. After watching it, would have thought there would be monuments built for it.

Sci-fi character dramas drop like flies on TV. SGU, Defying Gravity, Caprica, Outcasts all died young.

you can add '4400' and 'V' to that list :(
though thankfully 'V was lucky to have been cut short on what was a very 'final' episode, they don't have to bring that series back...though it would be nice

Atlantis and SGU also require finishing off :(
I don't consider Atlantis to be "canceled". They were supposed to end the story with a movie/s. I think it was the writers strike that first pushed it off. SGU on the other hand was completely in the middle of everything. The saddest part with SGU was that even many of the fans of stargate AND scifi were against it. Way to burn your house down.
Anyway mailwoman brought me Space: Above and Beyond DVD set today. Canceled by fox, it must be good.

i've had to make it a rule not to watch tv series until they have finished airing - simply because literally, whenever I watch a TV series - it ALWAYS gets cancelled
I used to say that as a joke after the aforementioned series went off air..but then I decided to watch Terra Nova.....
