I loved what Gammer used to make but I think he's just chasing the fashions in electronic music now. From his point of view he's probably just trying new things as a producer so I don't think I could blame him for trying to cash in on fashions like I might with some other artists.
I know Muffin Music isn't dead but that's what I liked about Gammer: Muffin Music, not just the label itself but even the name was kind of like looking into the mad, comical word hidden inside Gammer's head. I loved all the tongue in cheek humour that was in the tracks even though they felt so cutting edge at the same time. I can't imagine anyone in hardcore would name a label 'Muffin Music' now, I do feel like that sense of humour has been lost somewhere down the line, which is a massive shame.
I think that's the key thing we all miss in mainstream hardcore a bit, that colourful quirky flavour it had, even way back in the Happy Hardcore days it was there. Now it just seems a bit churned out and soulless.

Yeah I did thanks!! My original post was going to actually be about the album but so so often I make a post, something else comes to mind and I talk about that instead. That's why my posts are often way off subject, my attention span is horrendous and I often just post anything that comes into my mind and forget that it's totally unrelated. I also think that's how so many of my posts end up about the 'state of hardcore'; I realise I'm on a hardcore forum and that pops into the front of my head and I end up writing a big post about clubland in a thread about something distantly related.

Oh I thought that first track was with Andrew W.K.
haha!
Speaking of that track, I do like it, lots of momentum even if it is dubsteppy, probably wouldn't do much for me with a drop like that but I can appreciate why people would like it. It really reminds me of Raiden - Your Soul from Dieselboy's Substance D album (dnb) the build up. I'll post in a sec

Loved the mix, especially the track: There For You - D&G feat. Jerome, Banging track, I think that Hardstyle is starting to take over hardcore tho :( but HTID, hopefully hardcore will never die!
