where React Music a large label? As they filed for bankrupcy (twice!), it comes like a small label, or did it only have a horrible management? just trying to make an Bonkers comparison here aswell.
Not sure really. Did Bonkers ever have TV adverts here? I like Bonkers but I've never really followed it and always have been more of a Happy 2B Hardcore person. I just think it's silly to compare something that is a commercial franchise with it's own TV commercials (not saying this is good or bad) to something started to fill a gap in the market (But y'know, by all means go ahead because the winner is pretty clear).
don't know if this helps but:
Bonkers had TV adverts for every one after Bonkers 9 (and one for Vol1 in japan)
Hardcore Heaven had TV commericals for all of its ones from Volume 5 (original series) and onwards
Original Hardcore had TV commericals for all of its
Hardcore Adrenaline had TV commericals for all of its
Hardcore Euphoria had a tv commercial
Hardcore Nation had TV adverts for all of its
all the recent Helter Skelters Vs' albums have tv adverts too!
no idea if that helps, but someone might find the info useful, i'm still on the lookout for Hardcore Heaven Volume 5 tv advert, but I guess its unlikely anyone happened to catch it on VHS back in 99 :(
LOL! There was a Bonkers Japan advert?

First off in the positive side of things :-
Sensible number of tracks on each mix!
No Al storm!
Fracus and Darwin haven't got nearly half the bloody tracklist!
I'm sold already :-)
Bit concerned about the amount of petruccio and modulate but i'm open minded and will be giving this album a blast based on how much i've enjoyed the previous volumes.
Agreed, Al Storms songs on 7 were absolutely crap, though I can never get enough of Fracus and Darwin
EDIT: TBH I thought Klubfillers songs were the worst though, they are literally my least favorite hardcore songs of all time. I have low expectations for him this time around.
Al Storm is a really top notch producer, produced so many top quality tunes. I think at this moment he is experimenting to see where he wants to sit in the industry, if you follow him on soundcloud he is producing more jungle. But i also mean his hardcore is a bit older sounding riffs on one track (wherever you go), then a upfront track ( the awakening), then an experimental track (Get ya hands up) ( thats my opinion, could be totally wrong.)
Fracus & Darwin are also really really good. But they are different from Al production wise. I prefer fracus on his own when he does uplifting vocal stuff. Darwin has never really had me banging on about his tracks or playing them out, but from listening to his tunes you can see that this guy is really talented and produces some quality sounding tunes & has a massive fanbase from this.
Modulate & Petruccio have brought the electro & dubstep into hardcore and it seems that some people are worried that this is the way hardcore is going to stay and that they have ruined the 4/4 upfront happy part of the core, as ive said before i think its ****in amazing what there doing and am glad s&b have taken influence from this sound. Al said to me 3 years ago on nye that hardcore will be all electro sounding in a years time, i thought to myself **** off whats he on about, another 12 months on and it started bursting through (HES LIKE MYSTIC ****IN MEG OR SOMETHING.)
Dont worry tho, i think this x-treme will do really well and hit two sides of the market - Dirty & Uplifting
Dont think its going to please all you HU fans tho as its a completely different take on hardcore the same way as most of you HU fans dont like x-treme albums
Al Storm does a LOT more than people will give him credit for, he engineers so many tunes and goes uncredited as I mentioned. He definitely has his finger on the pulse because for the most part he is (or was, a couple of years ago) the pulse as much as it might surprise some people.
I've always found something to like in Hardcore; inbetween CLXH6 and HU5 I honestly thought there was nothing, HU5 has really impressed me in that it's given me hope for Hardcore, it's not actually my favorite kind of Hardcore but it's given me something to believe in and something to push out there. I've never ever liked the filthy side of hardcore just because it's always been so soulless and boring, and for me that isn't hardcore I can dance to, if I want pure energy I'll just listen to Full-On Psytrance as it's much more energetic (and is actually 35bpm slower too).
At the end of the day it's easy for me to avoid the new stuff, it's as easy as not buying a track, not clicking a link and not ordering a CD, so I don't care if people want to make it, but I do think it's a shame that they would choose to go from making music that really moved you and made the hairs stand up on your neck to kind of arbitrary club noises which don't really have a lot to say about anything and aren't really that memorable. To use a simple example; I hear people banging on about Skrillex's technical production skills, and I'm sure they're very impressive and that's great but what use is it when you can't write a song that really makes people think or a song that gives people hope or something?

I agree with what Torpex said for the most part - while hardcore electro will never get to me the way other stuff has, I'll enjoy an occasional track if it's well made and I want some bass.
