No, production standards are better than ever. People's perception of quality on the other hand...

think of it as a good thing, it's just another step in the evolution of the genre.
to be honest, i'm sick of hearing the same recycled old shit. bout time someone made a change.
Fair point, nothing wrong with change. Alas, this 'new' sound is already recycled from other genres that do it much better. Plus it's getting boring already.
and the tempo seems to stay around production tempo instead of being pitched up :/

no, it's their way of churning butter(money) from the clubkids
Amen, not gonna say much as another thread I posted in was anti dubcrap, but I certainly rest my case on the emerging pattern, hixxy, technikore, sy and unknown, eufeion, all making that style after the phase started off, aka they saw it sells to the public "clubkid"/hardcore haters, and wanted a piece of the action.
When someone makes a new sounding style which sells, the same will happen again.

That's basically what he said :p
Bad music is getting sold, i.e. peoples percetpion of quality has gone down the drain.,
Productiuon level doesnt have anything to do with musical quality, so the production can be goodo even if the track suck.s donkey balls

I think the production standard in Hardcore is at an all time low. It's shocking what people will accept as proffesional these days.

I'd rather listen to a well written track on an old jittery cassette tape deck in mono than a polished professionally mastered down piece of boring crap on a funktion one sound system.

Actually, i mean what I wrote.
Just because the quality of the track is top notch, doesn't mean that it is good.
Supposedly Kevin energy has become better productionwize, but I don't like most of his recent tunes.
Going to quote Luna-C from the Clubland Hardcore 8 thread:
quote: I agree that limitations can often help when it comes to creativity. I have always required limitations in order to create the music I do, and I have been slow to embrace newer techniques with some aspects of music making because I still believe the first and most important element is making good music, not producing good music. Everyone focuses on production, and forgets to have fun with the actual notes lol. Production is very important, but secondary. At least, IMO, lol.

It's a shame because I think that Sy & Unknown have produced some stompers over the past couple of years and there sound has been the closest to a 'happy vibe', often with well constructed and thought out original lyrics.
