What a weird thread to make, me and Brisk have definitely had our share of run-ins in the past - but this time something worries me.

Brisk has been disappearing out of the Hardcore scene a lot, sure he's been busy with Sinful Sauces and (I think) moving to Australia...but does this spell the end? The Next Gen podcast has finished...Ham is obviously doing his Hamilton thing and Fracus seems busy too...I've noticed Brisk moving towards the harder dutch styles, which I'm not against, and of course he was on HU5...but is it enough? I rarely see Brisk on lineups over here anymore, and if he wants to quit....I won't stop him. But is this really where it ends? I have so many brilliant Brisk mixes saved, so many great tunes with Brisks name on, for 1997 hardcore "Brisk Remix" are my two favorite words to see next to a tune and every collab involving Brisk in the 2000s has always been really solid.

He's a true rave DJ and producer through and through, how do we tell promoters, label owners and anyone else who will listen that 2we want more Brisk!" ?

PS: If this turns into another debate about Clubland I will spam this thread with as many youtube embedded videos as I can until it lags people out so much that nobody will want to post.

I think its just a case of hes not being booked as much as he used to. Which is a shame cos he is one of the few decent hardcore djs left.

p.s Pretty sure hes not moving to australia

Yeah, but that's where we come in! He's not getting booked because he's vanishing...and he's vanishing because he's not getting booked. So...how do we get the ball rolling again? I think getting him booked somewhere for a night isn't gonna do much...maybe we could get him to do an artist album or a best-of compilation..but I fear the latter might make people think he is quitting. A Brisk artist album would be awesome...there'd definitely be something for everyone on there.

I'm not quite sure what we can do...this thread is for brainstorming ideas.

What do you mean by that? It's as good a time as any if it was happening! It's not like he hasn't contributed massively to the scene for a ridiculous ammount of years.

He has...but I don't want him quitting with the reason that nobody cares anymore. There are so many Brisk fans and I feel with all the stuff going on at the moment he's been a bit eclipsed. As I said, if he wants to leave that'd be fine...but I feel like he deserves way more recognition than he's gotten.

Brisk is amazing, loved pretty much most of his stuff since i started listening to hardcore. Yes it seems that his new sauce buisness is doing pretty ****in well, im sure Sinful has won a few awards too.

The things that worry me is:-
1. That there is not much releases from him.
2. No Next Gen podcast ( they did say some might be done in the future)
3. Maybe cuz his buisness is doing so well he just aint got the time for hardcore no more (No offence to Brisk im well happy for him that it's took off)

And i was having a conversation with someone the other day about the Next Generation albums, they for me were all amazing, i loved all three and have been wishing for a 4th for years. Just think of the back catalogue since the last album, you could make another 3 albums. Thats one thing I would love is for brisk & ham to make another album. Pleaseeeeeee!!!!

Darwin just mentioned on Facebook that the next HU release has a Brisk track on it! But yeah, the Next Generation album is a good idea! Once we get a clear idea of what is financially do-able we can start plugging for it, maybe set up a Facebook page...see if we can plague Kutski or Billy Bunter enough to feature him on Kool/Radio One for a Next-gen mix as it's been a huge label for so long.

This was already discussed a few months back. Unfortunately I don't have internet at home atm and been using my cell phone lately so I can't go and search that thread without getting frustrated with a small screen lol. He came on here and responded to it as well.

Basically what he said is that he's not going away and neithed is Ham. They both have side projects that they're currently preoccupied with. And brisk doesn't get booked as much because he no longer has a booking agent. He used one in the states, but he no longef has one in the UK. He is booked for HTID in the sun, two sets in fact.

Personlly I think both brisk and ham (as well as fracus and darwin) have something big planned for the 100th release of both nextgen amd blatant beats. I do believe NG is already at 99th release, and BB is not too far behind. I think they're holding out some great tracks (like hams one and only and anything for you) for whatever they have planned. I just hope it's not a release like EVO100 and there's some actual original content involved.

Yea i think its about time he got on the radio, and i think that would be an album that everyone would agree on!!

Lets petition for a new Next Gen album mixed by both djs of course!!!!!

As Steven said, the man himself posted on here not long before Christmas, saying that he wasn't going anywhere just yet.

I'm sure he'll post in here himself within a day or two.

Brisk has probably been my favourite DJ for a few years now.

Its obvious that he is preoccupied with other projects at the minute. But its not as if all hardcore has come to a stand still. There are still planned releases on NG/BB and he has bookings, notably at HTID in the sun.

But like most in this thread I wish he was around more. One of the things I love about Brisk as a DJ is the variety in his sets. Starting with NG/BB/HU stuff and ending in Dutch stuff. These days a lot of his sets at main events are techno only, which fustrates me because I do like the full Brisk package ;)

A NG ablum would be amazing!!!!!!

Sounds good to me! If Brisk isn't going anywhere, and there's a big bunch of fans who love his DJing and productions...well then anything is possible. Brisk Army Unite!

I can't imagine a scene without Brisk, so i won't! NG is one of a very few labels that i can't wait to hear their next release. No Brisk = no Hardcore.

I think in podcast 29 brisk hinted at the possibility of his own artist albums as well as Fracus having one coming out as well I think? I'll have to re-listen to it later to check.
