HAHA 'before making a proper review' that looked pretty thorough for someone who hasnt listened to the tracks properly' ;)

The best track on here IMO is A.B - Qube! It literally had everyone at I Love Hard Beats rushing thier knockers off when we dropped it at the end of our set! =)

The extra track on the mixed CD is Transcend - Zero G Fire it was given away free as a gift in light of Watchtower's launch. There is no point having it on the unmixed one!

You'll find HHC.com is a hard crowd to please lol

Overall I was happy with this album although receiving 2 unmixed was a bit of a pain.

I thought I was going mad & repeatedly putting the same CD in over & over lol Shit happens though, i'm sure it'll be resolved soon.

Nice variety of tracks & that free Transcend - Zero G track is a monster!

Looking forward to whats to come from Watchtower. Keep em coming!

And about the offence part. I've been listening to the various Hardcore styles since 2001, and I have only visited 1 rave (Last Freeformation in London). So Basicly I'm a raver who doesn't Rave. So when you said that the ravers (at I Love Hard Beats I presume) liked it, and I don't, you didn't consider me a raver... oh well, it was just a silly thought I had.

Also, just to bring a little USH to the thread... Who told you that you could decide what I can buy?

And by the way, I did listen to the samples. I did like a few more, but when I finally got to listen to the properly, I didn't like them as much.

Surely a raver is by definition someone that attends raves? Other wise your just a fan of hardcore music? That's like me saying i'm a fisherman despite only having been fishing once, at a garden centre.

The fact that you have attended one rave is great, to be honest most raves are rubbish so your not missing much. However there is one thing you are missing and it's quite a key point really. You can't possibly have an idea how a track goes down on a dance floor or the atmosphere certain tracks can create in a club environment if you've not heard the track in a club. Some tracks are more suited to home listening, others to the club.

I'd also be grateful if you would point out exactly where I said I "could decide what you could or could not buy?" as I'm a bit puzzled where you got this idea from?

All track samples online for a month before means the decision to buy is up to you and, judging by your review, it seems you made the wrong decision.

That's your problem, not mine.

If you really want to continue this then drop me an email hq[atsymbol]watchtowerrecords.co.uk

Cheers,

Matt

I can see both points of view here.

There's no better place to hear Freeform than at a rave. I have to admit the main reason i didn't buy the CD was more to do with my listening habits than quality issues.

Pretty much everything at ILHB sounded awesome because that's the right kind of environment. In fact, the whole thing was as near a perfect night as i've experienced in years. Trouble is though, regardless of what i do i can't recreate that at home so i don't buy that much (other than the tunes i can't live without). BUT, ask me if i'd rather be in a room listening to upfront or Freeform then there'd be no contest at present.

Good luck with Watchtower, i'll definitely get some of the digital releases, and be watching with interest what's to come.

Smithy: you quoted an old post, I updated the first post with my review after that one :P

Matt: Really, I'm not having a go at you, no need to take it in PM, I don't dislike the album to be NASTY about it. it's not clubland ;)

But then, what is it with hardcore artists and their reluctance to negative feedback? I thought I was atleast somewhat netrual in my review.

AND FOR THE LOVE OF, I SAID I LIKED THE SAMPLES!!! Not every tracks gets better with each listen...
