Funny, someone asked this on ush (traitor I know) & I chose a 1992 classic myself, Urban Hype - Trip to Trumpton.
But for you lot I might try something a bit different
Man Scottie needs to get his MP3's fixed. There's loads of old stuff I need (even tho I wont like much from before 98).

I'd say 5 years or more, all depends really as we all have a different take on the "classic" subject :)
the whole idea of the thread is just to get some good old tunes posted, maybe start a good discussion about a tune... So many great tunes out there - also gives everyone an idea of their taste really...

It's actually listed as Hard Trance but there is no point in pretending it is anything other than Hardcore, and maybe other things, but definately not Hard Trance.

Nice one Hard2Get!
I must confess, that I havn't listened to this track before, but I remember Gerald Malke aka Gary D. Otherwise I didn't know that Lars Boege is DJ Gollum today. This should be the reason why Gollum's "Hands Up"-releases are one of the few ones I like in this genre.
A lot of tracks, that could be classified as Hardtrance today sounded as proper Hardcore in the 90's. I know some people, who classified such track as a genre called Rave, which I personally think is ridiculous. Rave is an event and not a genre! Most of those tracks could classify as what you British call Trancecore or Freeform Hardcore. I still don't know enough about the history of Hardcore music!
It gets even harder to classify such tracks, when two versions show up. For an example use "Marimba Love" of RMB. Originally it was produced as a Hardtrance track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=p0Vqch9Sj2s
