Has anybody tried the (legal) herbal/liquid ecstasy that is available over the internet and in drug stores? Is it any good? How does it compare to the real thing?

i've smoked the "herbal ecstacy" that you get in packets - it does nothing but attract the police (it smells a lot like pot).

I've tried the Herbal stuff before...gave me a bit of an energy boost and a headache, but that's all.

The "herbal" stuff most people take in pills or smoke is normally ephedrine(ma huang), or any number of other "herbal" or chemical stimulants. Most of them don't do too much. The "Liquid-X" has always been GHB, but since GHB was made illegal in most countries then if you still see it it's probably not GHB and I'd have to assume it's yet another form of effedrine or something.

It doesn't compare and it isn't that great. Pure ephedrine hydrochloride is farily safe and will give you a buzz if you OD it to about 5X what you're supposed to take so I assume what most people are talking about here is ephedrine. However ephedrine hydrochloride was banned in most countries because it's the purest form of ephedrine. Which makes no sense cause now all the pills have some crap analog version of the hydrochloride ephedrine and it's much more dangerous and has a lot more side effects like headaches, nausea, death, etc...
To this date ephedrine is responsible for about 20 times more deaths than MDMA. And the effects of ephedrine are NOT comparable to MDMA :D
