Lol, Warnman, do you listen to any English Hardcore or just Euro stuff?
Being a 10 year old child in 1994 I was somehow focused on the stuff that was played at radio and TV stations at that time.
Some known Breakbeat stuff existed from that time, but nothing I wouldn't honestly connect to the more UK rootet Breakbeat tracks.
Although these tracks are the most succesful commercial ones, I still love these tracks. And to be honest I only like about 15-25 % of the tracks that are getting posted in these old-school threads. I understand and respect that the continental Europe and the U. K. have different roots of Hardcore. Tbh honest I start to believe that there has never existed a true Hardcore scene in Germany, because it had been played as usual Pop music and people simply moved on to Hip-Hop after the hype.
I'm pretty sure I was born 5-10 years too late to understand your point of view.

Germany did have a harder scene that was similer to the Dutch Gabber scene of ther times, if you listen to stuff by Speedfreak there was some crossover. I heard some German Trance stuff in some Dutch Old Skool sets. Even Hixxy played some in his Bonkers 4 mix for some reason. Also the Germans had Skooter although they are infact famous for high jacking other well known styles

The only existing Gabba scenes that have developed in the past of Germany was a neo-Fascist one or the modern Dutch-copy-scene in some small parts of Germany.
Only one thing that has changes today is that some regions in Germany obey to the Dutch way of modern Hardcore. I've joined some Gabba events: you're not facing the proplems of meeting racists anymore, but pure Gabba raves are stuffed with chavs and idiots.
Tmo true German Trance died in 1997, just like Happy Hardcore. I prefer a lot of German Trance tracks from the 90's, but only the first or second (depends in your own personal way of definiation) Rave generations have been able to enjoy these times. A lot of the tunes I like, turn out to be Hardtrance songs years after I had been faced with them for the first time.
And Scooter? They are laughable! They have been "producing" good music during their first years, but afterwards they only did copy + paste. Screw them!

I thought it was only the UK that had problems with chavs at raves lol you should see them in their pink and white fluffy boots (if female) or HTID tatoos if they are male. They are what ruined the rave scene as far as im concerned and one of the reasosns why I avoided raves all together! Not because they cause trouble but because they music is made to cater for that crowd. Most of them go raving between the ages 17-22 by which time they have their 1st kid but I see young'mothers' go raving after child birth and think 'who looks after the kid?'

Some serious stereotyping there smoogs?? What would happen if someone....somewhere, likes the same music as you....BUT wears pink and white fluffy boots....AND has a HTID tattoo??? I dread to think.....
What about the people (Like myself) who wore hi-vis jackets, Fake beards/wigs and just went nuts? Do they ruin the scene for you too?
I have to admit that we have very similar tastes in music in regards to the rave scene, though recently I've been more into the mid 90's German hard trance - but you seriously need to look at the bigger picture when you criticize how the music has evolved...Same as it did from the 80's to the 90's, from the 90's to the 00's and ending up with what we have today. The music in each generation of ravers was aimed at the crowd you numpty otherwise no-one would have went.
And in regards to Scooter - Their music when they first started was brilliant and 'Back in Time' is still on of my favourite tunes. It is a shame they changed so much but like the scene - they evolved too.

Nothing wrong with the fancy dress, I just see the same people dressing the same as everyone else just to 'fit in' Raves shouldnt have a fashion status
To be honest im not too keen on the earlier German Trance. Im more of a Dutch lover from that period. 1994 has to be one of the best years for Gabber!

I've started listening to that quite a lot in recent months (Though not just German stuff, unless coincidentally all of what i listen to is German). It's really good. Has many of the qualities of Hardcore with the melodies of Trance (and i don't mean the stuff that actually sounds like Hardcore, just to be clear).

I don't mind strange looking people. Once in a while I start to think about buying phat pants for myself. I don't know what your definition of a chav is. The German Gabba scene is heavy influenced by the Dutch and people dress like them: black clothes and bold. But it's not the way they dress that makes me saying, those guys are chavs.
It's the way they behave. They are highly aggressive and rude against newbies and people that don't look themselves. I've never felt that special warm feeling I got at some Goas or the mentioned Happy Hardcore rave.

Yes, tmo opinion it's the best Trance ever and Frankfurt was one of its capitals, because of the popular label Eye Q records which was located in the city. When it went bankrupt and several clubs were forced by local authorities to close down all rave movements have died in this area.

1994 was a brilliant era in the UK hardcore scene, yet you've failed to mention any of the best lol. This was the time I started going to regular raves

That's what i was thinking. Not an imaginative list given what was around. Unless the list is meant to be limited to Happy stuff only.
