No "news" yet; some stuff has been going on behind the scenes but it'll be a while. The state of things at the moment, make it even more important than ever that it's up to scratch. Which isn't going to involve sticking some random submissions together at this point. Originally HU was started to showcase all the great stuff that the major albums were near wilfully missing yet at this point there's not a great deal to miss. I think we're looking to some serious artist harassment/motivating and heavy A&R for both album and scene at large!
In the meantime we've got some artist albums to fill the void.

There's plenty of material already for it I saw CDJay say somewhere. So if all goes well we might see it sooner than expected. But first, the CLSM album in Aug/Sept.
There will definitely be a Fracus & Darwin CD, and hopefully there is a Brisk & Ham cd. NG/BB has been quiet for what seems like a whole year already, so I know that least Brisk is busy with new tracks. And Ham, I really think he's not done yet with hardcore I hope he's just holding material back for HU6, or even a NG/BB100 album.
Of course AB & Douglas would have their own album, or maybe things might be changed up and one of them might be switched around with Pinnacle or Solution, or maybe all 4 of them. They did an incredible job on the freeform yacht party, would be interesting to see the 4 of them work together again.
That just leaves the 4th cd. Honestly Slipmatt & Entity made a great collab, so I would not mind seeing them work together again, but if there's gonna be a more "mainstream" cd like last one, then it would be interesting to see Hixxy on that album. Farfetched I'm sure, but he's booked for the next HU event, so maybe that's a sign of a possible collab between him and someone else for an HU album. But honestly I'd much rather see Gammer on an album. He's a beast. Maybe him and Marc Smith can make a brilliant cd.

Can't wait, yeah I really liked Slipmatt & Entity on the last one as well as Fracus, Darwin and Brisks. Both discs had a good varity of hardcore.
One dj I would'nt mind seeing on there is Scott Brown doing a mix with Brisk & Ham. Been years since Scott Brown has done a mix cd. Maybe this would make him pull his fingure out and make some more great tunage.

To be clear, it will involve random submissions but it can't rely on them entirely.
We, and those involved, will have to harass and motivate everyone writing hardcore to a decent standard (past, present and future). Hell, it'll probably be more community-centric than ever before which could be great news. *If* people step up.

I spoke to Brisk at HTID ITS and his album will be out towards the back end of the year if things go to plan.
Its definitely a Brisk album and not NG but I get the feeling it will feature different artists maybe some big names in the scene!!!

Yeah but guys this is hardcore , everything gets delayed and takes so damn long to get released :( Take HU and NG/BB for example, how many of the soundcloud clips (of their respective artists) from last year are still not available to buy (?)
In my opinion I don't see why tracks can't be released 1 or 2 months after they've been made, why play the track in podcasts/events and make everyone wait 6+ months when all interest in the song has probably been lost by then? Surely the 'scene' needs frequent releases from the big names to stop it going stagnated ?
Don't get me wrong, I'm not having a go at any particular person/s , but I love hardcore music so much and I get extremely frustrated sometimes :(

Yeah it is annoying. When i heard a new track on soundcloud it would be months later till it was released but by then i lost interest. Also i haven't bought any next gen releases for ages, i used to here the tracks in podcasts an a year later the tracks get released. I got so bored of waiting that i lost interest in that label alltogether.

not entirely understanding this "loose interest" thing - music is music, its not fruit..it doesn't go rotten with time!
I guess if you're playing the song out to other people on a dancefloor to a crowd that are supposedly demanding only brand new pieces of music...are crowds really that superficial though? I don't like to think so..

it doesn't bother me at all if i have to wait a few months to buy a track, i dont lose interest at all ive never never heard so much bollocks.
theres a track from brisk that i first heard in a livest in 2010 and since then its been 'forthcoming' ( i have a feeling it will be on his album ) and im still as eager for it to be released just as much as i was when i 1st heard it.

I can relate to this. I try not to listen to certain tracks until they get released just incase I get bored or go off it.

There'll be tracks on that brisk album that have already been around for a year that are unreleased (Everytime for example and as a fan who wants to buy the music, it's extremely frustrating that he just won't get the thing out or at the very least release some tunes.

He's bang on here and echoes mostly why i didn't like HU5 as much as past albums and the crop of music floating around really isn't all that exciting at all. I Do hope you guys are able to pull out something special this time around.

Anything less just isn't good enough.
No pressure :S
re: unreleased stuff, by and large we've got a *lot* better at getting stuff out quickly. As for Brisk stuff, let's just say it'll be well worth the wait.

When vinyl was still being pressed, I could understand a slight delay in releases, but now that 99% of all Hardcore is digital, there should be no excuse for waiting 6 months to a year to get 1 track uploaded on a download site. I totally understand the whole "loosing interest" thing. You hear a great track, and keep watch for a couple of weeks for it...then weeks turn to a month, month to months, and sadly, months to a year, and by that time, you just don't care anymore about trying to get the track.

Could'nt have said it better myself, there is no excuse in the digital for slow release dates.
