Hello everyone, I'm going to be DJing a friend's party this weekend. It's going to be fairly big, and I'll be playing all sorts of genres, but I am going to be mixing a lot of hardcore tunes as it is my friend's birthday and he wants to hear me mix some. I'm wondering... what are some good tunes for an audience that has not heard too much hardcore? Keep in mind this is a crowd that likes a lot of electro-house and dubstep, so I am thinking ones that are a little more bass and electro-influenced, but any ideas you have would be great. Any thoughts? I know there is a lot out there these days... was hoping you could all help me out.
Oh, forgot to add.... any remixes of popular tunes out might be fun to throw in for a crowd like this
To name a few I thought would be good right off the bat:
Robbie-S - Welcome to Zombieland
Dougal and Gammer - Your One
Darren Styles & Gammer - You & I
Sidney Samson - Riverside (Gammer remix)
JAKAZiD - Movin' to This (Kanji Kinetic remix)
Nu Foundation - Drifting Away (Cat Like Thief remix)
Thanks!!

My thoughts exactly! Also I think these would do nicely as well: Modulate Feat Jay Jacob- 3 (why that name, I don't know unless the word free in there really is three lol) Gammer & Klubfiller- Future Fuzz Darren Styles- Screwface Darwin & Skinny- I Can't Get You Fracus & Darwin- Comin Down (I prefer the original version but the VIP mix will be more suited to your set) Cally Gage & Gammer- Breakneck Bastard (hardcore mix) Gammer- Major Panic

Thanks for the responses! I will definitely be checking all of these tunes out. I do have Music Blocks (in fact, I have the CD, it is definitely my favourite purchase this year), and I am definitely going to play that one. I have a few of the other tunes mentioned, too, but most of them I've not heard of. Again, thanks, hopefully this goes well!

For that purpose I usually stick with the hardcore remixing pop theme. While a lot of it is inferior as hardcore music, it bridges the gap nicely and everyone gets their own way, more or less.
Some I remember using for that at a party last year:
Eiffel 65 - Blue (Squad-E Remix)
Tinchy Stryder Feat. Amelle - Never Leave You (Squad-E Remix)
Katy Perry - Hot & Cold (Gisbo Remix)
Baked Potato remixes of Use Somebody and Sex On Fire
Hook & KAIN - I G0tz F33linz
etc., no point listing anymore cos the possibilities are basically endless. I'm not saying those tracks are good or bad technically either, I like some of them, but they did the job and I got to mix hardcore for 4 hours straight so it was worth it.
On a more current note and on the subject of actually decent bootlegs, I have a thing for Nero - Crush On You (Nix Remix)

Let Me In (Darwin Remix). Trust me, people I know who hate hardcore say they like this tune. One of them basically only listens to chill-out, world beat and new age stuff and he loves this one. :)

Thanks for the replies. My set was a success, and I'll definitely be keeping all of these suggested tracks in mind for the next house party I DJ.

Well to be honest... I forgot to record the set. It was rather short, too, after a little while I just let my friend (the host) take control of the tunes considering it was his birthday...
Music Blocks went well, so did Welcome to Zombieland. Eiffel 65 - Blue (Squad-E Remix) got a very good response, go figure... not a whole lot of people danced, though, which is typical considering it's a house party. Oh well. It was fun and I think everyone had a good time.

Had exactly the same thing with the Blue remix mate. Nothing like a bit of nostalgia to keep people happy!
Hardcore's definitely not the best thing to get people dancing at house parties though, dancing at 170bpm is way out of most people's comfort zone. That's what I find anyway but then I'm sure a lot of my friends would remain stationary and chatting whatever was playing.
