So I like doing mixes where the genres and tempos change a few times, but I'm after some tracks that change from say around 140-170bpm and vice verca. Been using a few dubstep-to-d&b tracks and a few hard dance/hardcore edits I've made myself, but can't keep using these same ones all the time. Struggling to find anything really.
Anyone got any suggestions of tracks that change tempo half way through (preferably staying that way)? Any genres really, DJ tools etc are all good.
I know there are other ways of doing these transitions but this is the sort of thing I'm loking for.
(apologies if this has already been covered here - my crappy searching didin't find much relevant I don't think...)
Cheers guys!

Not sure if this is what your looking for, but check it out... around the 25 second mark the tune switches to 140 BPM, then back up to 170 later on.

Not a million miles off mate - it's the ones like that which change to a significantly different tempo but stay that way til the end (so as to introduce tunes of a different pace into the mix), rather then going back to the original speed.
Appreciate that though pal, good tune :)

I remixed a massive attack track a while ago started at 85bpm to the breakdown & notched it up to 170bpm after, it was a while ago so not that good like, easier to tempo change at half speed, also did another remix of newcleus, just testing the water of automating tempo change really...

I've been using this recently, whilst it does finish back at 140, there are a couple of sections you can mix out from. And as already mentioned some of Luna Cs dj tools

Cheers lads.
I have the Luna-C DJ Tools, and these are the types of tracks I'm looking for - beginning at 'X' bpm, and ending at 'Y' bpm.
Good shout on that Strange Rollers track too, Breakbeat Jon!
I'll have another blast at making my own, they don't have to be too complex do they for a simple DJ tool.
Nice one again guys!

are we talking within a mix here? because, what stops you from changing the BPM in a track?

Right - let's say I start a mix with rave breaks. After 4 tracks, I want to speed things up and slam some drum and bass in. So I want a song that starts off around 140 beats per min, and sometime after the intro goes to around 170 beats per minute. Then 4 or 5 records later, I feel like slowing down. So I would like a track that is 170 bpm at the start and slows down to around 140 (without losing too much energy, of course).
I am aware that I can wildly change the tempo of the mix with alternative methods - I was just asking for a few track suggestions that do this.
Like that Strange Rollers track, or the Luna-C DJ Toolz.

you could always change the pitch/bpm during a song, so after 4-6 songs you've gotten from 140 to maybe 160. To change from 140 to 170 I guess you do need a track that has a different BPM in the track (either at the end or in the middle)

The intro on Substanced's free album starts at around 150 bpm and ends 175 bpm. I use it for the exact purpose you're looking for.
I just edited some mixing beats onto the beginning of it.

Cheers sunbeam!
Some of the ones I've used in my last mix are:
DJ Purple Rabbit - Vibes Machine (Milo Firewater Dubstep to Drumstep Remix)
Strange Rollers - Change Pace (nod to Breakbeat Jon here)
Captain Panic - Unload (Dubstep To Drumstep Mix) (Cuts it a bit fine though, this one)
I've also knocked up a couple of simple edits, Now Is The Time original into rave breaks version, United In Dance - Take Me Away (same as the last one), Nero - Act Like You Know dubstep into drum and bass, couple of the Dougal and Gammer tracks that have a hard dance and a hardcore version. Nothing you couldn't fix up yourself in Audacity or whatever though.

With hardcore the only real way I've found is to do it yourself. Obviously there's the Luna-C stuff but those tracks all sound seriously dated alongside anything from, say, the last 3 or 4 years. There's probably other stuff out there along a similar line but realistically the production quality is gonna be sub-par.
I've got a big collection of edits I made which I'd share but those aren't really the kind of thing you can put on Soundcloud without reprisals. I don't even use them very often myself because no matter how good the track selection and no matter how perfect the edit, it's still a jarring technique a lot of the time.

Yeah it's the sort of thing I've found works better in multi genre mixes, or at least breakbeat ones. The hardcore/hard dance edits I've made aren't right subtle. Saying that the others aren't but they sound a bit more natural.

There's always this track. I find myself using this to switch things up in the mix pretty often. A very fun and useful track, just in case you overlooked it. :)
