Especially since he only did simple intro/outro fades and still managed to screw them up.

Anabolic Frolic was a legend simply because he somehow got away with trainwrecking 8 whole fucking albums before stopping.
There's no real place for mixed compilation CDs anymore (well certainly not from a "DJ showcase" perspective) because now everyone mixes them to perfection in the studio no-one's gonna stick their head above the parapet and do an album mix on CDJs. Plenty of casual listeners don't realise that the mixes aren't done on decks -- admittedly through no fault of their own but you have to wonder why they don't suspect something's up when a lot of the DJs can't reproduce anything even close live.

That is pretty funny:) A scott Brown album. Funny how a producer with so much talent can lose their passion over night like he did. I never saw it comming.

It's sad how no one is putting out cds now. Anabolic Frolic's strategy was ace: Take the top releases from the first half of the year and mix them on a cd. Then, at the end of the year, take the second half of the year's big releases and slap them on a mixed cd. No label got "showcased" since the tracks were all from different labels. It was just a nice collection of tunes that were deemed as "anthems", not just any ol' track an artist may be getting to release.
Anabolic could pull it off since he wasnt aligned to any label. I dont think anyones dares to do that anymore, considering people are starting to buy more and more unmixed albums
The only reason people are buying more and more unmixed albums is because that's all that's being thrown at them. I mean...what happened to DJs wanting to showcase their art? Someone needs to stand up and break this dead mold.
I think DJ BRISKS HAPPY HARDCORE FOUNDATION series is alot better than HAPPY 2B HARDCORE series. Much better mixed and still great tunage. You should check it out. You'd be pleasently surprised.
Also check out the WOW WHAT A RUSH SERIES that Justin Time mixed.
