Updated the track quite a bit. Removed the vox, shortened the overall length, really cleaned up the master... (hopefully the lead isn't as dry-sounding as I think it is...)

three things stand out to me at a first listen:
1. the master is over compressed thus killing the transients of the kick drum.
2. EQ in general sounds muddy
3. the vocal part drags on for too long. not that it's not saying something of interest (IMO) , but after a while I got the feeling it was a forced fitting.

Do you mean all of it is overly compressed or just the kick?

This is a problem I can't seem to escape.

What makes it feel forced?

the kick in the outro sounds ok so it makes me think its a mastering/limiting issue.
muddiness can be a consequence of mixing down on a not so good reference system and then mastering/maximizing again on it.
the spoken part...
starts too early in the track and drags on too long. kinda feels like the track evolved around that. The middle section has very low musical impact, imo.

I think I've fixed up the mixing, at least to the best of my abilities. Lots of listening to the same few seconds repeatedly. :3 Thank you.

I can understand it starting too early. Regarding the middle area, is the problem that there isn't enough musical content going on behind the blabbering? I had a listen to Lost Soul - Human Being and I noticed that there's a fair amount of musical pads going on the background. My fear is that, here, they'll take precedence over the speech, and I'm not sure how to avoid that. :

New version is much cleaner. The absence of the vocal makes it much more musical, too.
The kick doesn't sound as squashed anymore but it still needs work.

What do you think I could do to the kick to bring it up to par? If it helps, here's its EQ and envelope:

Cheers and thanks for your advice.
Also, one more question: how does the lead sound? I'm afraid that it's too dry and missing some if its harmonics in the mids, therefore making it stand out less.

just had a listen on my headphones and there the kick sounds way better than in my dj set up (not that it's anything fancy). for some reason it's just not translating over on the speakers.
one thing on that eq curve for the kick. I would cut the top end off a bit. if you want more crunch on it (which I'm guessing is why you have all that top-end boosted on it) I would suggest layering it or just finding a better sample. either way, try cutting some top end.
keep at it. there's definitely an improvement! ;)

The track is good, and the idea is good. But it lacks plenty of low end. I also think bass should be louder.
