Seriously, I love it when they play around with the CDs.
I loved what they did with a heavy metal group, Rhapsody of Fire. They basicly cut out the CD to look like a dragon.

I just got the latest M-Project VS Sharpnel Single, It might not be as advanced, but still a nice thing to do.
.
Is that an idea for you thumpa? =P

You used to be able to get CD-R discs like that, shaped as xmas trees and birthday bears etc. They were pretty cool.
Don't have any to hand as I gave them away, should be able to snap the xmas one at my mums and put it up :)

i've never tested, but supposedly you should never try to insert a shaped CD into a slot-driven CD-ROM :P

Makes sense. I'm guessing it would be fine if you managed to line it up correctly though.

It's definitely not something I would like to try in my CDJs.

That's what I believed as well. But then When I bought Star Trek Nemesis, it came with a CD-ROM that was shaped similar to the top part of the ice sculpture above the letters in the pic below

I don't think I ever got it to work properly after inserting it lol. I think I still have that disc lying around somewhere if I find it I'll post a proper picture to show y'all what it looks like.

I have twenty CD's which, when flipped over, can be played on a record player. Top that! I must get round to selling them.

considering that the data is stored on the top side (just underneath the label itself), those discs gotta be thicker.

The "vinyl" part and CD data are on the same side.
Vinyl plays from the outside in whilst cd data is read from the inside out if that makes sense. Its pretty clever. I'll upload a video later in the week so you can see it in action.
