Was on one of soundclouds Hardcore groups the other day which I find a great place to see new productions and dj mixes from Hardcore fans and producers.
Anyways this guy kept spaming the page with his down tempo progressive music. First I did'nt really care, but after weeks of this same guy constantly re-uploading his same 5 progressive tracks to this UK Hardcore group so that they are at the top of the page all the time, I really started to get pissed off.
So I commented on his tracks "umm yeah, how is progressive Hardcore?"
The next thing I know he's calling me all sorts of names and saying he can put his music where he likes and it's his way of promotion.
Anyways after a lot of anger between us he finally realised he was being unfair.
But has anyone else noticed this? Certain people from other scenes bombarding the Hardcore fan pages with genres like progressive? I swear if this guy could he'd spam the whole of happyhardcore.com with his music.

I'll bet that kind of selfish promotion affects other genres too.
Also, reminds me of this.

Well, that is not the worst actually. What's worse is some random blokes who enter your soundcloud page, spams the link to their electro/dubstep/moombathon tracks on the timeline of your track, or paste a long message & maybe an adf.ly or virus link that is irrelevant to the track you've made.
This is more annoying. :)

i get messages like that all the time on sc from people who make dubstep, house etc they say things like "i really dig your tracks seems we have something in common" so i go check there page and they don't make hardcore so how could we have anything in common i get a lot of americans who favorite my tracks and the 5 minuites later they remove it from there favorites (i've never understood why) it's happened 12 times over the last 2 weeks

It does happen with other genres, but seems to be worst with Hardcore. Because it's such a small scene and it's groups don't have as many producers but lots of members. It's easy for people from other scenes to bombard a Hardcore group and almost take it over with their shit.
This guy was American too, I don't think he realised how angry English can get lol
I've gotten some dodgy links to who knows what sent to me also. Always try to block them.

Soundcloud should really crack down on all these trolls.
Josephson Junction that link is very funny, and he's an American too. They love their self promotion some of them. It would have been nice if it was real American Hardcore, because they do make some good rave tracks in the US.

It happens on all pages from all genres of music. People self-promote their shit like crazy anywhere you go. You probably think it's worse on hardcore pages because you follow more hardcore pages than any other genre of electronic music.

lots of People who,
Favorite and unfavorite
Follow and unfollow
message to promote
Share tracks with 100k people
post on unrelated groups
its not just hardcore specifically, its soundcloud in general
the offenders are more often ,Proghouse,Deep House,Dubstep artists trying to over-promote them selves.
gets annoying, but rare time i find the thing they shared interesting, i'm pleased

Did you recommend a real track for once? No Krissy? No Cammy? No Rankin? No Daffy D?

But seriously. What is your hate for S3rl? Other than I'm also tired of his Daddy DJ/Basshunter tracks, he still produces some good tracks. Like Second Wave.

Isn't Second Wave really old though? I know it has a remix version that came out this year, but I thought the original was like 5 years old.
In any case I used to like S3RL's stuff but not so much anymore. Ever since he came out with that shitty Pika Girl track I lost a lot of interest in what he makes. He reminds me of Scott Brown a bit, where he had this one unique style and sound and he just runs with it. Personally I find that boring, maybe that was cool back in those hardcore days but these days that just gets tired real quick.

Pulse did a remix of it yea. It's also a good track, but I still prefer the original.
